As usual, at this time of year, Apple got us used to the announcement of much news, and this year was no different, but for us who are watch geeks, two, in particular, jumped, the announcement of the new Apple watch series 6 and the new Apple watch SE.
The new series 6 and SE are replacing the previous series 5 and series 3 respectively, and Apple did not want to leave anyone out, simultaneously launching two modern models, one more expensive and with more features and the other more accessible, with many of the features of the series 6.
Let’s start with series 6, if you are a health-obsessed nerd, the Apple watch series 6 is the perfect watch for you and no, it hasn’t diagnosed the disease of the century yet, but it already does some things at that level, to the functionality previous heart rate control now joins a new functionality to measure the level of oxygen in the blood by, this measurement is made through four sets of LEDs fixed in the crystal caseback. But that’s not all that the series 6 can do for you in terms of health, it also has an app available that helps you control your sleep time and establish rest routines, it has also a fitness app that allows access to the most efficient training and metric your times.
Outside this new Apple watch, it presents several different options that join the options of the previous series, Apple now adds two new aluminum cases 100% made of recycled material in red and blue colours and a new gold stainless steel case. In terms of straps, there are also many new colours and material options, but two, in particular, stand out, the Solo Loop, a strap without clasp or buckle made of extensible silicone rubber and available in nine custom sizes and the Braided Solo Loop, a strap with interlaced silicone wires made from recycled polyester yarn filaments.
Regarding the funniest part of the watch, the faces, Apple did not fail to bring numerous possibilities that will leave the greatest watch geek with a big smile on his face with the possibility to “change” or customize the dials all day.
Finally, just a quick review of the Apple watch SE, despite being a level down in terms of processor compared with to the series 6, it is twice as fast as the series 3 that now comes to replace, this new SE, unlike the series 6 doesn’t allow you to measure the level of oxygen in your blood or the ECG (which we’ve missed talking about above but it’s a kind of electrocardiogram that you can get with a single touch on the digital crown), everything else is also available on the Apple Watch SE, although material options are more limited. Even in terms of dimensions, the new SE has grown from the two previous size options of 38 and 42 mm (series 3) to the same size options as the series 6, 40 and 44 mm.
Prices are available from € 439 for series 6 and from € 309 for SE.
