The New Amida Digitrend NASA Edition Brings Space-Age Design Back
Amida expands its retro-futuristic Digitrend collection with a striking new limited release, the Digitrend NASA Edition, a model that draws inspiration from one of the most iconic names in space exploration: NASA’s Space Shuttle Enterprise.

Limited to just 100 pieces, this special edition combines the bold 1970s design language of the original Digitrend with materials and details that pay tribute to aerospace engineering and NASA’s visual heritage.
A Design Inspired by Space Exploration
The new Amida Digitrend NASA Edition retains the instantly recognizable wedge-shaped silhouette that defines the collection. Its compact yet substantial case measures 39.60 mm in width, 39 mm in length, and 15.60 mm in thickness, dimensions that preserve the original model’s distinctive presence on the wrist.
Despite its thickness on paper, the watch’s aerodynamic architecture and curved profile help it wear comfortably, giving it a streamlined feel that naturally echoes the design of spacecraft and shuttle fuselages.

For this edition, Amida introduces a more technical material mix. The main case body is crafted from stainless steel with a black DLC coating, enhanced by horizontal engraved lines that emphasize its futuristic shape.
Adding visual contrast is a glossy white ceramic upper shell, a feature that immediately sets this model apart. Besides offering excellent scratch resistance, the ceramic component visually references the thermal-protection exterior of the Space Shuttle Enterprise. Positioned prominently on top is the classic red NASA “worm” logo, one of the most recognizable symbols in the agency’s history.
Signature Prism Time Display
One of the Digitrend’s most distinctive features remains its Light Reflecting Display, a signature system that gives the watch its unmistakable character.
Rather than using a traditional dial, the time is displayed through a sapphire prism, allowing the wearer to read the time from the front-facing aperture. The display combines jumping hours with scrolling minutes, both framed by subtle red accents that reinforce the space-inspired theme.

This display system is more than just a visual statement. The jump-hour module is an Amida-developed proprietary mechanism, mounted on top of the automatic movement, giving the watch a unique mechanical identity within the retro-inspired sports watch segment.
Automatic Swiss Movement
Powering the Digitrend NASA Edition is the Swiss Soprod Newton P092 automatic caliber.
The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), features 23 jewels, and delivers a 44-hour power reserve.

Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire caseback, offering a view of the movement and its skeletonized rotor. Also engraved on the rear is the Latin phrase “Per Aspera Ad Astra”, meaning “Through hardships to the stars,” a fitting tribute to the spirit of exploration and human achievement in space.
NASA-Inspired Strap Construction
Amida continues the space theme with a highly specialized strap choice.
The watch is fitted with a black strap combining rubberized leather and Beta cloth, the latter being a material historically associated with NASA spacesuits due to its fire-resistant properties.

This technical textile adds another layer of authenticity to the theme while complementing the monochromatic black-and-white case design. The strap is secured via a Velcro fastening system, further reinforcing the utilitarian, mission-ready aesthetic.
Limited to 100 Units
The Amida Digitrend NASA Edition is released as a limited edition of 100 pieces and is available exclusively through the brand’s official website.
Priced at € 4,080, the watch stands out as one of the most distinctive space-themed releases of the year, blending vintage-inspired design, innovative display mechanics, and aerospace references into a highly collectible package.
