The Maen Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin Now Comes With Natural Stone Dials

Maen expands its Manhattan collection with a new interpretation of the Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin, bringing natural stone dials to the Swedish brand’s permanent collection. The new models retain the slim integrated-sports-watch architecture of the existing hand-wound version while introducing three distinct materials for the dial: Black Onyx, Golden Swan and Snowflake Obsidian.

The Manhattan has established its identity around a compact, angular case inspired by the integrated sports watches of the 1970s. In this latest version, the natural stones become the main visual element, with Maen simplifying the dial layout to allow the individual character of each material to take centre stage.

A compact 37 mm case

The stainless steel case measures 37 mm in diameter, 47.40 mm from lug to lug and just 7.10 mm in thickness. Its slim profile is one of the defining characteristics of the Ultra-Thin, with the manually wound movement allowing the watch to sit particularly close to the wrist.

The case uses a combination of brushed and polished surfaces to emphasise its faceted construction, while the octagonal bezel reinforces the geometric character of the Manhattan. Sapphire crystals are fitted on both sides, including a transparent caseback that provides a view of the movement.

Water resistance is rated at 100 metres, giving the Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin a practical specification despite its slim construction.

Integrated bracelet

The integrated stainless steel bracelet follows the same design as the existing Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin. Its predominantly brushed surfaces are complemented by polished chamfers, while the bracelet gradually tapers towards a butterfly clasp.

Short links are used to improve articulation around the wrist, and the bracelet’s connection to the case follows one of the collection’s distinctive construction details. Rather than using a conventional visible attachment system, four screws pass through the caseback to secure the integrated bracelet to the watch.

Three natural stone dials

The main change comes on the dial side, where Maen replaces conventional dial treatments with three pieces of natural stone.

Black Onyx delivers a deep black appearance with a smooth, glossy surface, while Golden Swan introduces warmer tones and naturally occurring veining that gives each dial its own pattern.

The third option, Snowflake Obsidian, offers perhaps the most visually distinctive configuration. This volcanic glass is characterised by pale inclusions distributed naturally across its predominantly dark surface, meaning no two dials will have exactly the same appearance.

To keep attention on the stones themselves, Maen has reduced the amount of visual information on the dial. The applied hour markers found on previous versions have been removed, as has the small-seconds display. In their place are simple pencil-style hands, creating a cleaner composition that leaves more of the natural material exposed.

Hand-wound La Joux-Perret movement

Power comes from the La Joux-Perret D101, a manually wound mechanical movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It provides approximately 50 hours of power reserve.

The movement can be viewed through the sapphire caseback and receives decorative finishing that includes Côtes de Genève and blued screws. Its hand-wound architecture also contributes to the watch’s 7.10 mm overall thickness.

Availability and price

The Maen Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin Stone Dial Collection joins the brand’s permanent collection and is available with Black Onyx, Golden Swan or Snowflake Obsidian dials.

The new models are priced at € 1,699.
