The M.A.D. 1S: A Sleeker Evolution In Watch Design
While the many fans of M.A.D. 1 await and despair for the arrival of their successor – M.A.D. 2 which should take place in 2025, the watch now arrives more elegant and with a new movement.
Designed by MB&F, the M.A.D. 1 is a watch with a futuristic appearance whose hours and minutes are read using 2 cylinders, another of its features is the unidirectional rotor in the shape of 3 war axes placed at the top of the watch that has won and continues to win many fans around the world and which makes each edition sell out in the blink of an eye.
The new M.A.D. 1S whose “S” in its name is for slimmer has as its main plate the reduction in thickness from the previous 18.80mm to now 15mm while maintaining its 42mm width. This reduction is achieved by sacrificing the minute cylinder, thus now using just one cylinder, the hour cylinder, which continues to allow the time to be read with some precision thanks to its quarter-hour marks.
As we can see, inside we will find a new Swiss movement, the Caliber G101 made by La Joux-Perret with 24 jewels that operates 28,800 Vph and offers up to 68 hours of power reserve.
The watch is paired with a black textured perforated leather strap with a steel folding clamp.
This edition is limited to 1,500 units at the same previous price of CHF 2,900.
