The long-awaited Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is now Available
New Pitch Watch, this one perhaps the most anticipated.
As we had announced when launching the Tissot PRX at the beginning of February, a new automatic version would be arriving in the summer, so the new Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is now out there, which should, as it had already happened with the quartz version, be sold out in the next few days.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to read the article we previously wrote about the new Tissot PRX, we invite you to do it now, as in this article we will only cover the news brought by the new variants with automatic movement.
But let’s move on to the new features, such as the quartz version, the new automatic version comes in three variants at the level of the dial, in black, silver and blue, but with the novelty of now incorporating a beautiful tapisserie dial similar to the one used by the Royal Oak (RO), also on the dial comes another small novelty, the date aperture now incorporates a frame in the color of the dial accents, which gives it a touch of elegance, and the inclusion of “Powermatic 80” below the previous inscription “PRX” on the dial. Also a new addition to the silver variant, in addition to the golden accents on the dial, now also includes a golden bezel.
The stainless steel case comes with similar dimensions with 40mm wide and 10.9mm thick, 0.5mm more in relation to the quartz version that will go unnoticed on the wrist, also in terms of weight only a small difference of 8 grams more in relation to the 130 grams of the quartz version, at the trim level it features a brushed surface with beveled polished edges and a smooth polished bezel. As a quartz variant, it comes with anti-reflective sapphire glass and features a water resistance of up to 100m. Another novelty is the open case back, through which it is possible to observe the mechanical movement that was carefully decorated.
Like the quartz versions, the new PRX Powermatic 80 comes with a beautiful integrated steel bracelet, with solid end links, brushed finish, and butterfly clasp.
It is inside the new PRX Powermatic 80 that the greatest innovation is concentrated, the precise automatic movement Powermatic 80.111 based on the ETA C07.111, which offers up to 80 hours of power reserve, with a silicon balance spring that offers greater resistance to magnetic fields and it is chronometer-certified by COSC.
This new automatic variant is not yet available in some countries but should take place over the next few weeks, prices should range from € 660 in steel (black and blue variants) to € 690 in steel with PVD treatment in pink gold (silver variant).
In our opinion, it is without a doubt a fabulous addition to the PRX collection, as we mentioned at the time of the presentation of the quartz version, the Tissot PRX becomes the most affordable alternative on the market for watches with an integrated bracelet, and even though the Tapisserie dial now added can to connote this model as a RO homage we cannot say that it puts it on another level, if to all this we add the no less spectacular and reliable Powermatic 80 movement, an execution with impressive levels of detail and a price below €700, it’s without a doubt that reaching a high level that the competition will have difficulty in at least equal, we can only address our congratulations to Tissot and wait for more news at this level.
