The Lange 1 Daymatic Makes Its Comeback In Honeygold
A. Lange & Söhne brings back the Lange 1 Daymatic, reintroducing the automatic interpretation of its signature model in a new Honeygold limited edition. First released in 2010 and known for its reversed dial design and self-winding architecture, the Daymatic returns after a quiet absence, now offered in a series of 250 pieces.
Reversed Dial Architecture With Small Seconds
Staying true to what distinguishes it from the classic Lange 1, the Daymatic features an inverted dial layout. The off-centre hours-and-minutes display appears on the left side of the dial, balanced by the outsize date window on the right. At approximately 7 o’clock, a small-seconds display is positioned just beneath the primary time indication, maintaining the asymmetric yet harmonious design language of the Lange 1 family.

Replacing the power-reserve indicator of the hand-wound model, the Daymatic introduces a retrograde day-of-the-week complication, adjustable via a recessed corrector in the case flank.
The dial is crafted from solid silver (925) and finished in a deep brown tone, complemented by matching date discs. Honeygold hands and applied indices reinforce the warm aesthetic, paired with a taupe alligator strap.
Case in the Exclusive Honeygold Alloy
The renewed Daymatic is housed in a 39.50 mm Honeygold case with a thickness of 10.40 mm. Honeygold—a proprietary alloy developed exclusively for A. Lange & Söhne—offers a distinctive colour somewhere between yellow and rose gold, combined with increased hardness for improved durability. The case integrates a pusher on the left that advances the outsize date mechanism.

Automatic Caliber L021.1
Powering the watch is the automatic caliber L021.1, a movement designed specifically for the Daymatic. It incorporates 426 individual components and 67 jewels, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). The movement offers a 50-hour power reserve, supported by a centrally mounted rotor crafted in 21-carat gold with a platinum outer segment to enhance winding efficiency.

The partially openworked rotor reveals signature Saxon movement elements, including the untreated German-silver three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing, thermally blued screws, polished bevels, perlage, and the hand-engraved balance cock that has become a hallmark of the manufacture.
