The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Now Arrives in Chronograph Version
There are two new Jaeger-LeCoultre that add to the Polaris collection, after the Automatic, Date, Memovox Mariner and Perpetual Calendar versions, the chronograph version arrives in two variants.
The chronograph version, which wears the same 42mm diameter stainless steel case as the majority of the collection, with the exception of the Automatic version, which is 1mm less wide, features a sapphire glass box, crown at 3 o’clock accompanied by two rectangular pushers, open case back and 100m water resistance.
The impressive lacquer dials are divided into three sectors and present a gradient effect in the first two with their tones fading from the outside to the inside. Thus we have a first sector formed by a central disc that, in addition to housing the skeletonized hour, minute hands, and the chronograph centre seconds hand also houses part of the two sub-dials based on a 30-minute counter and a running seconds at 3-9 o’clock. The second sector made up of a textured ring is where the borders of the two counters end and where the hour markers and Arabic numerals are applied, which, like the hands, are filled with luminescent material. Finally, a black outer ring with a tachymeter scale joins the two counters and the centre seconds that come with some orange-coloured details.
Inside, it operates the automatic movement Caliber 761 with a column wheel, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 65 hours of power reserve.
Regarding the two variants, there is a grey one that, in addition to the standard colour, adds a beige tone to the colour palette on the dial, which comes attached to a beige canvas strap, and a blue version that is offered with a steel bracelet. Both variants also come with an extra rubber strap matching the dial.
The two chronographs are now available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers with prices varying between €16,000 for the grey version and €16,800 for the blue version.
