The Isotope Hydrium Debuts A California Dial
The Isotope California is the latest addition to the Hydrium family, an edition of just 200 pieces that comes with a textured black dial and a California dial.
Isotope’s new diving watch maintains a round-shaped sandblasted steel case base measuring 40 mm in diameter, 14.90 mm thick and 48 mm lug-to-lug distance. Unidirectional bezel with black insert and 60-minute scale filled with Super-LumiNova and with the brand’s logo replacing the 60-minute marker, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with crown guards, sapphire crystal on the front and screwed open case-back, and finally 300m of water resistance.
On its black-grained dial, we can find raised indexes, with Roman numerals in the upper hemisphere and Arabic numerals in the lower, which characterize a ‘California’ dial, with the hour markers of the four cardinal points being replaced by horizontal batons and an inverted triangle at 12 o’clock, and they all come filled with a beige luminescent material that also extends to the hour and minute hands. A silver centre seconds hand, a white minute track with a 1/5 second scale that matches the lettering of the brand at noon and the two lines of text at 6 o’clock preceded by the red inscription ‘Hydrium CA’.
Inside, the Swiss Landeron automatic movement rules, operate at 28,800 VPh with an accuracy of +12 / -12 seconds per day and offer up to 40 hours of power reserve. Which comes decorated with Perlage and Côtes de Genève on the bridges and blue screws.
The watch is offered with a black Tropic-type FKM rubber strap or a tan suede strap, with prices ranging between €1,063.95 for the first option and €1,181.95 for the second.
