Hublot continues its creative partnership with American artist Daniel Arsham through the launch of the MP-17 MECA-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire. Following the MP-16 Droplet pocket watch, this new wristwatch transforms the poetic idea of a droplet into a “splash” — a vivid representation of movement and time.

The most eye-catching feature of the MP-17 is its irregular sapphire crystal, designed to resemble a splash of water frozen in motion. Unlike traditional shapes, this unique contour extends even to the 60-minute flange, emphasizing the sense of energy and fluidity that defines the piece.

Titanium Case with a “Wet Look” Finish

The 42 mm case is made from polished and microblasted titanium, combining a textured matte surface with glossy highlights that create the illusion of a wet, reflective finish. The design is accented by six visible screws—an unmistakable Hublot signature—and balanced proportions that enhance its futuristic aesthetic while remaining faithful to the brand’s mechanical DNA.

Openworked MECA-10 Movement

Inside, the watch features the openworked HUB1205 MECA-10 manual-winding movement. Known for its robust 10-day power reserve, this caliber showcases Hublot’s mastery of architectural watchmaking. The display includes central hours and minutes, a small seconds counter, and a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock.

With a diameter of 33.50 mm, the HUB1205 allows for the more wearable 42 mm case size—marking one of Hublot’s more compact MECA-10 models. The intricate inner workings of the movement can also be admired through the transparent caseback, adding depth to the piece’s mechanical artistry.

In tribute to Daniel Arsham’s artistic vision, the MP-17 integrates green Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers — a tone inspired by oxidized bronze, representing Arsham’s concept of blending modernity with traces of the past.
