The Great Gonzo Takes Over The Oris ProPilot X
Oris is extending its playful collaboration with Disney’s The Muppets with a third ProPilot X creation dedicated to one of the franchise’s most eccentric characters: Gonzo. Following the ProPilot X Kermit Edition and ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition, the new ProPilot X Gonzo Edition takes a substantially larger approach, combining the character’s flamboyant personality with Oris’s manually wound Calibre 115.

Rather than simply placing Gonzo prominently on the dial, Oris has incorporated a series of subtle references throughout the watch. At its heart, however, remains the technically distinctive Calibre 115, a movement designed around an impressive ten-day power reserve.
A 44mm Titanium Case
The Gonzo Edition uses the largest case in the ProPilot X family, measuring 44 mm in diameter, 12.60 mm thick and 52 mm from lug to lug. The case is made from Grade 2 titanium, maintaining the lightweight construction associated with the ProPilot X collection.

The generous dimensions are closely related to the architecture of the movement inside. Calibre 115 is a large, manually wound mechanism, requiring considerable space for its oversized mainspring barrel.
The watch retains the characteristic contemporary design language of the ProPilot X, with its combination of angular surfaces, integrated-style lugs and lightweight titanium construction. The result is a large wrist presence without the mass that would normally accompany a watch of this size in stainless steel.
Calibre 115 and Ten Days of Autonomy
The mechanical centrepiece is Oris Calibre 115, a manually wound movement offering an extraordinary 10-day power reserve.
Its extended autonomy comes from a large mainspring barrel, allowing the watch to continue running for approximately 240 hours after being fully wound. The movement also provides a power-reserve display at 3 o’clock, allowing the wearer to monitor the remaining energy.

For the Gonzo Edition, Oris has given this indicator an appropriately unconventional treatment. Instead of a conventional power-reserve hand, the indicator uses a chili pepper, referencing a motif associated with Gonzo’s colourful wardrobe.
The scale itself has also been modified. Rather than simply reading “10 Days”, it is marked “10 Great Days”, adding another character-specific detail without compromising the functionality of the display.
The movement can also be observed through the skeletonized construction of the dial, giving the watch a strong mechanical character from the front.
A Skeletonized Dial Inspired by Gonzo
The most obvious departure from the standard ProPilot X Calibre 115 is the dial.
Oris has used an openworked architecture that exposes elements of the movement while introducing a multicoloured treatment inspired by Gonzo. The structural lines of the dial transition through blue, red and yellow, creating a vibrant visual effect while retaining the technical character of the skeletonized design.

Surrounding the dial is another unusual detail: an iridescent metallic outer ring around the minute track. Its appearance changes depending on how light strikes the surface, adding flashes of different colours without requiring additional decorative elements.
This combination of openworked mechanics, coloured structural elements and the reflective outer ring gives the Gonzo Edition considerably more visual complexity than a conventional ProPilot X.
Finding Gonzo
Perhaps the most unconventional detail is not immediately visible.
Gonzo’s face is laser-engraved onto the mainspring itself. Because the mainspring changes position as the watch is wound and unwound, the character’s image becomes visible when the movement is fully wound, when the spring is tightly coiled.

It is a particularly inventive way of incorporating the Muppets character into a mechanical component rather than simply printing or engraving Gonzo onto the case or dial.
The idea also connects the character directly to the watch’s most distinctive technical feature: its ten-day power reserve.
A Mechanical ProPilot X with Character
The ProPilot X Gonzo Edition combines the technical architecture of Oris’s Calibre 115 with a much more colourful aesthetic. The 44 mm Grade 2 titanium case, skeletonized dial, ten-day manually wound movement and unconventional power-reserve indicator give the watch a distinctive identity within the ProPilot X range.
The Muppets connection is present throughout, but the design does not rely exclusively on a large character graphic. Instead, Oris has distributed the references across the dial, power-reserve display and even the mainspring, making the watch’s personality closely connected to its mechanical construction.
The result is a ProPilot X that pairs serious long-running mechanical engineering with one of The Muppets’ most recognizable characters.
The Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition is priced at $10,500.
