Exactly two centuries and two decades ago, on June 26, 1801, Abraham-Louis Breguet registered in Paris the patent for the ingenious mechanism that made it possible to compensate for the inequalities produced by the balance wheel and mainspring in watches, what is known today as the “tourbillon”. Today, 220 years later, the House of Breguet pays homage to this historic landmark through a limited edition, Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Anniversaire 5365.

In total there are 35 units that will be produced of this watch, this number corresponding to the number of watches with tourbillon produced by the brand’s founder throughout his life. The new watch, through its elegant and discreet silhouettes, intends to reproduce the foundations of the brand.

The watch comes with a 41mm rose gold case, indented around, as is the crown at three o’clock that receives the Breguet “B” as the signature. Inside the watch features a dial with the “Clous de Paris” motif, handmade with a diamond chisel consisting of an interlacing engraved and crossed lines, and a grain d’orge motif on the periphery. Also on the dial, Roman hour markers, central blued steel open-tipped hands, and tourbillon at 5 o’clock with a blue bridge and a special mention above of “Brevet No 157”. The watch is powered by the high-frequency In-house automatic movement Caliber 581, offering up to 80 hours of power reserve, which features a platinum oscillating wheel and wave motif, which can be seen through the open case back engraved with individual numbering.

Finally, the watch is offered with a brown leather strap with a rose gold triple-blade folding clasp. The price is available on request.
