The Swedish brand Anders & Co expands its AC2 collection with the Volcán series, introducing a range of dress watches defined by their use of natural stone dials. Designed with compact proportions, a notably slim profile, and a restrained aesthetic, the AC2 Volcán models place their emphasis on materials and execution while remaining positioned at an accessible price point.

Dial Variants and Layout

The defining feature of the AC2 Volcán collection is its use of stone dials, each cut from a single piece of material to ensure that no two examples are identical. The collection is available in five different stone options: aventurine, turquoise, charoite, rubilite, and red agate. Each stone introduces a distinct visual character, ranging from the sparkling depth of aventurine to the organic swirling patterns of charoite, as well as the saturated hues found in turquoise and red agate.

The dial design itself remains deliberately minimal. Faceted dauphine-style hands are combined with slim applied baton hour markers, while branding is limited to a discreet printed wordmark. This pared-back approach allows the natural stone surface to remain the primary focus. The red agate version is further differentiated by the use of Eastern Arabic numerals, giving this variant a unique identity within the lineup.

Case Design and Dimensions

The AC2 Volcán is housed in a stainless steel cushion-shaped case, a form commonly associated with mid-century dress watches. The case measures 37 mm in width, with a lug-to-lug distance of 44.60 mm, ensuring balanced proportions and a comfortable fit on a wide range of wrist sizes. At just 5.65 mm thick, the watch maintains an ultra-slim profile that allows it to sit close to the wrist and easily slide under a shirt cuff.

Polished surfaces, sharp lines, and well-defined angles give the case a refined appearance, reinforcing the formal nature of the watch while providing enough structure to frame the stone dials effectively.

Movement

Inside the case, the AC2 Volcán is powered by the Miyota 9T22 quartz movement. This caliber was selected primarily for its thin construction, which plays a key role in achieving the watch’s slim overall profile. The absence of a seconds hand contributes to the clean, symmetrical dial layout and helps preserve the traditional appearance expected of a dress watch.

The use of a quartz movement also allows Anders & Co to keep the watch competitively priced while offering reliable and low-maintenance timekeeping.

Strap and Wearability

All models in the AC2 Volcán collection are delivered on a crocodile-embossed leather strap. This choice complements the polished case and minimalist dial design, reinforcing the dress-oriented character of the watch and making it suitable for formal and semi-formal wear.

The Anders & Co AC2 Volcán stone dial models are available now directly from the brand. The standard stone dial versions are priced at € 532.95, while the red agate model featuring Eastern Arabic numerals is priced at € 607.95.

Our Take

The new Anders & Co AC2 Volcán watches present themselves as elegant timepieces that naturally sit within the dress watch category. The decision to omit the seconds hand feels well judged, creating a clean dial that leaves room for ambiguity as to whether the watch is powered by a mechanical or quartz movement—something that, for purists, remains the proverbial elephant in the room. Among the lineup, the Red Agate stands out for us, not only because of its rich tone but also due to the inclusion of Eastern Arabic numerals, a design element we are avowed fans of. While we would like to spend time with the watch in hand to form a more complete assessment, what we have seen so far is certainly convincing.
