The A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater Arrives Now In Honeygold

In 2009, A. Lange & Söhne announced the arrival of the first Zeitwerk and six years later it presented the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, the first mechanical wristwatch to combine a jumping hours and minutes display with a decimal minute repeater, now arriving in Honeygold.

This complex timepiece, which allows you to activate the minute repeater just through a push button positioned at 10 o’clock, offers three different chimes, a low-pitched tone for each hour, a double tone (a low-pitched tone plus a high-pitched tone) for every ten minutes and one high-pitched tone for every minute, which, taking for example the time of 7 hours and 52 minutes in the photos, means that seven low-pitched tones, five double tones and two high-pitched tones have already been produced.

The watch, which wears an 18K Honeygold case, which is the gold alloy owned by the brand since 2010, is presented in the same format as the two previous editions, first in platinum in 2015 and then in white gold in 2020, with a diameter of 44.20mm by 14.10mm thick, whose finish alternates between polished and brushed, sapphire glass on both sides, fluted crown at 2 o’clock and a push button at 10 o’clock.

On the grey dial the traditional layout, in the centre a rhodium-plated German silver time bridge with double hour and minute windows, a small seconds at 6 o’clock flanked by the two hammers and respective gongs that, according to the brand, produce a clear and warm timbre. Finally, a power reserve indicator at noon is headed by the brand’s lettering.

At its heart, runs the 771-component In-house Caliber L043.5, which comes with safety and blocking mechanisms to protect the movement, reaching 18,000 Bph and offering up to 36 hours of power reserve. The manual movement that comes carefully decorated by hand can be appreciated through the open case back.

The watch comes attached to a hand-stitched brown leather strap with an 18K Honeygold and white gold deployment buckle.

It is a limited edition of 30 pieces whose price can be obtained upon request, however, if we consider the €449,000 requested in 2020 for the white gold variant we can get an idea of what it could be.
