Junghans Meister Chronoscope Gets A Light Blue Makeover For Wempe

To celebrate a century-long partnership between Junghans and renowned German retailer Wempe, a special edition of the Meister Chronoscope has just been released. Limited to only 100 pieces worldwide, this exclusive model combines the clean, timeless design language of Junghans with a distinctive light blue colorway developed in collaboration with Wempe.

Housed in a 40.7mm polished stainless steel case, the watch features the refined silhouette characteristic of the Meister Chronoscope line. The case gently tapers from its base and expands toward the dial opening, emphasizing the almost bezel-free design that contributes to its modern elegance. Despite a height of 13.9mm, the domed profile and clever proportions allow for a sleek and balanced presence on the wrist. A curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial while preserving the vintage-inspired look.

The standout element is the uniform light blue dial, a first for the model. All key visual components—from the main surface to the recessed sub-dials and even the day-date discs—are rendered in the same calming blue tone, giving the watch a sleek, monochromatic appearance. Sub-dials for the chronograph functions sit at 12 and 6 o’clock, joined by a running seconds display at 9 o’clock. Dark blue hands within the counters ensure excellent legibility without breaking the color harmony.

Rhodium-plated indices are applied along the dial’s perimeter, each with a subtle downward curve that mirrors the domed crystal. The central minute hand is also slightly bent at the tip to follow the dial’s shape—hallmarks of Junghans’ attention to detail.

The watch is powered by the automatic calibre J880.1, based on the Sellita SW500. It delivers a 48-hour power reserve and features refined mechanical finishing visible through the exhibition caseback, including perlage, blued screws, rhodium-plated bridges, and Geneva stripes on the rotor.

For the first time, the Wempe name appears directly on the dial, positioned just below the day-date display at 3 o’clock—an understated but meaningful nod to the long-standing collaboration. Completing the design is a dark midnight blue alligator leather strap secured by a stainless steel folding clasp.

Now available at Wempe showrooms worldwide that feature a Junghans concession, the Meister Chronoscope Wempe Edition is priced at € 2,590 and limited to just 100 individually numbered pieces.
