One of the great novelties presented by IWC at this year’s Watches and Wonders is the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph in 18k 5N Gold. This is an absolute debut for the collection in this type of precious material and confirms the versatility of the Swiss brand in transforming tool watches into elegant pieces. So, the new IW388110 is an excellent solution for all those looking for a class and robust timepiece.
The 41mm by 14.6mm 18k 5N Gold case features a main brushed finish that contrasts with the polished surfaces of the bezel, bevels, crown, pushers and sapphire crystal case back.
The sunburst green dial, features the traditional layout with three sub-dials at the 6-9-12 o’clock positions, translated into a running-seconds with a red pointer, a 12-hour counter and a 30-minute counter. The dial also features painting Arabic numerals and gold leaf hands all filled with white Super-LumiNova, a centre chronograph seconds hand and a double day-date window at three o’clock.
Inside, it is powered by the In-house Caliber 69385, which runs at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 46 hours of power reserve. The column wheel chronograph that can be observed working through the rear open case is highlighted by the bi-directional skeletonized rotor.
The new gold chronograph is attached to a green rubber strap with 18k 5N hardware and equipped with an easy-change system.
The watch is already available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers and can be purchased for €24,900.
