Zenith And Hodinkee Unveil Limited Edition Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar

Zenith and Hodinkee have teamed up once again for their third collaboration, unveiling a limited edition of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar. This launch follows Zenith’s earlier release of the Chronomaster Triple Calendar, which pays homage to the iconic 1970 El Primero Prototype, the 3019 PHF. Only 25 units of this prototype were originally produced, incorporating a triple calendar module into the A386 movement. A true gem from the Swiss watchmaker’s archives, it highlights the rich legacy behind this latest release.

Combining the charm of a classic timepiece with modern mechanical efficiency, the new Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is designed to impress both vintage and contemporary watch enthusiasts. The stainless steel case, measuring 38mm in diameter and 14mm in thickness, boasts a brushed finish and is topped with sapphire crystal on both sides. It features a fluted crown alongside two pushers, with water resistance up to 50 meters, ensuring both style and functionality.

One of the standout elements of this edition is the inverted Panda dial. With a black background and unique Gibeon Meteorite registers, each watch takes on an individual character. These registers include a 60-second counter, a 60-minute recorder, and running seconds, along with windows displaying the day, date, month, and moon phases. Rhodium-plated hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova enhance the readability of the dial, while a black 1/10th second rehaut works in sync with the chronograph centre seconds hand, completing six revolutions per minute.

Powering this limited edition is the Caliber El Primero 3610, renowned for its precision and high-revving performance. Operating at 36,000 Vph, the movement offers an impressive 60-hour power reserve, making it as reliable as it is visually captivating. Completing the design is a 3-link steel bracelet equipped with a folding clasp.

This exclusive collaboration between Zenith and Hodinkee is limited to just 200 numbered pieces, with the first 75 available through Hodinkee at USD 13,500. With its blend of vintage appeal and cutting-edge horological innovation, the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar promises to be a collector’s piece for discerning watch enthusiasts.

In addition to the new Green Chronomaster in steel and the Meteorite dial in gold, another of the great news brought by Zenith is the new Chronomaster Triple Calendar.

This addition marks the return of the complication of the annual calendar to the sphere of El Primero, which has always been characterized by being able to present a balanced and easy-to-read dial without compromising its genesis.

Let’s see how everything is arranged on the dial, maintaining the tricompax layout, keeping a 60-seconds register at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock that now adds a moon-phase aperture, and a running seconds at 9, now also including a small weekday window at 10 o’clock and on the opposite side at 2 o’clock another one with the month that come together to the existing date window at 4:30. On the dial we can also find a 1/10th seconds inner ring and golden hour markers and three centre hands all filled with Super-LumiNova.

On the outside, the watch comes in a 38mm round stainless steel case, which features a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the sides, sapphire glass on both sides, domed sapphire crystal, fluted crown with the brand’s signature at 3 o’clock and two pushers buttons, open case back and 50m of waterproofing.

The column-wheel chronographs come equipped with the high-speed El Primero 3610 automatic movement, which reaches 36,000 Bph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve.

The new Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar arrives in three variants, one with a Panda dial with a silvery white background and black registers, another with a gray dial and white sub-dials and finally an exclusive Boutique edition that comes with an olive green dial and white counters.

The new watches that are now available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers can be purchased for €13,400 if they come with a leather strap and for €13,900 if they come with a steel bracelet.
