Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow: A Bold Tribute To The Tour De France

Tudor continues its venture into professional cycling with the release of a new limited-edition chronograph inspired by the Tour de France: the Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow. Limited to 300 pieces, this model builds on the brand’s ongoing collaboration with the Tudor Pro Cycling Team and pays tribute to one of cycling’s most iconic symbols—the Maillot Jaune, or yellow jersey, worn by the general classification leader in the Tour.

A Carbon Composite Case Built for Performance

The Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow features a 43 mm case crafted from matte-finished carbon composite, known for its lightweight properties and resistance to wear. The case profile remains slim at 13.20 mm thick, with fixed strap bars (FXD) for added structural integrity and reliability—hallmarks of the FXD line.

This chronograph is fitted with two pushers, offering immediate access to the timing functions, while a sapphire crystal protects the dial. The solid caseback is engraved with edition-specific markings and the individual watch number.

Dial Details: High-Contrast and Functional

After the pink edition launched in May in honor of the Giro d’Italia, a similar edition has now appeared that swaps the pink accents for yellow, inspired by the Tour de France. The new Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow, apart from the updated color details, is in every way identical to last month’s edition.

The dial adopts a bi-compax layout, with yellow highlights distinguishing this variant. The chronograph counters and cycling-specific tachymeter scale are accented in yellow, while the rest of the dial retains the stealthy matte black finish seen previously. At 6 o’clock sits a discreet date window, seamlessly integrated into the design.

Key indicators such as the snowflake hands and monobloc ceramic composite hour markers are coated with luminescent material for enhanced legibility in low light. Unique to this chronograph is the cycling tachymeter scale, calibrated to reflect average racing speeds well below the standard 60 km/h starting point of traditional tachymeters.

Engineered for Precision

Powering the Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow is the Calibre MT5813, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement. Developed in partnership with Breitling and based on the B01 architecture, the movement has been customized by Tudor with a silicon balance spring and other proprietary refinements. It delivers a power reserve of 70 hours and beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour).

Strap and Edition Details

The watch is paired with a one-piece black fabric strap, featuring a bold yellow central stripe in reference to the Tour de France leader’s jersey. The strap is secured with matching hardware for a cohesive and durable fit during high-performance use.

Limited to 300 individually numbered pieces, the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow is priced at € 5,550 and stands as a bold fusion of elite timekeeping and cycling heritage—just in time for the sport’s most prestigious race.
