Bulova Lunar Pilot Timascus: A Collector’s Tribute To Apollo 15
In honor of its 150th anniversary, Bulova has introduced a striking new addition to its Lunar Pilot lineup: the Lunar Pilot Timascus, a limited edition chronograph that blends heritage, material innovation, and artistic collaboration.

This release pays homage to the original Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph worn during the Apollo 15 mission on August 2, 1971. While the historical connection remains at the core, the 2025 edition introduces a bold design twist—most notably through its unique Timascus dial.
A Dial Like No Other
The term “Timascus” is a fusion of “titanium” and “Damascus,” referring to the layered and folded titanium material used to create the dial. This technique results in colorful, swirling patterns that are unique to each piece, delivering a dynamic and eye-catching aesthetic that changes under different lighting angles. The effect mimics fluid waves of color, giving the chronograph a modern and artistic edge.

Functional and Familiar Layout
Set within a 43.50 mm stainless steel case, the dial features three white-silver chronograph subdials at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. The main dial is accented with polished silver-tone hands, applied markers, and numerals for enhanced legibility. A fixed tachymeter bezel surrounds the dial, while blue pushers flank the central crown, adding a pop of color that complements the overall design.

Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, ensuring clear visibility and durability. The case is water resistant to 50 meters.
High-Performance Quartz Movement
Powering the Lunar Pilot Timascus is Bulova’s HPQ NP20 quartz chronograph movement, known for its high frequency of 262 kHz. This movement offers superior accuracy compared to standard quartz calibers, consistent with Bulova’s reputation for performance-focused design.
Artistic Collaboration & Commemorative Caseback
The caseback of this limited edition model is engraved with a tribute to the Apollo 15 mission, the date it took place, and a commemorative “150th Anniversary” inscription. Also featured is a relief of Budii, a signature astronaut character created by Brazilian artist Thiago Rosinhole, marking a collaborative effort that connects Bulova’s space legacy with contemporary artistic expression. The watch is individually numbered and limited to 5,500 pieces.

Special Packaging with Budii Character
The Bulova Lunar Pilot Timascus comes in specially designed commemorative packaging that celebrates both the watch’s lunar heritage and its modern artistic twist. Inside, in addition to the watch itself, collectors will find artwork of Budii, the quirky astronaut character featured throughout the collaboration and signed by Rosinhole, adding a playful and collectible dimension to the unboxing experience.
