In 2023, during Watches and Wonders, Oris surprised us with the playful ProPilot X Kermit Edition, inspired by Kermit the Frog from The Muppets. Fast forward two years, and Oris brings us the next chapter in this whimsical series: the Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition. This new release not only celebrates the fabulous Miss Piggy but also introduces significant updates to the ProPilot X collection.

 

A First for ProPilot X: Stainless Steel and 34mm Case

The Miss Piggy Edition debuts in a 34mm stainless steel case, marking the first time the ProPilot X series ventures into a smaller, more elegant size and shifts from titanium to stainless steel. Designed with refinement in mind, the watch boasts polished accents on the bezel, crown, and case back, contrasting beautifully with its brushed surfaces. The dimensions—34mm in diameter, 11mm thick, and 41.50mm lug-to-lug—make it ideal for slimmer wrists.

Key features include a coin-edge bezel for a classic aviation-inspired look, sapphire crystal on the front and a mineral glass display case back and 100 meters of water resistance for versatile wearability.

 

Eye-Catching Hot Pink Dial with Unique Details

The hot pink dial is a standout feature, introducing a series of firsts for the ProPilot X collection. It features raised indexes in magenta, with the 12 o’clock marker replaced by a lab-grown diamond. The design opts for three center hands and no date window, keeping the focus on its bold, vibrant personality. While Miss Piggy doesn’t appear on the dial, her presence is felt in the movement.

Powered by the Oris Caliber 531 (based on the Sellita SW100), the watch offers 25 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. A lilac-colored rotor visible through the rear case window, which occasionally reveals Miss Piggy herself, this playful detail adds a charming surprise for the wearer.

 

Paired with a Steel Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet, equipped with Oris’s signature “Lift” clasp, ensures a secure and stylish fit. The ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition is priced at €2,800 and joins the permanent collection.

While the 34mm size is a welcome addition, a 36mm option might have catered to a broader audience. The lab-grown diamond at 12 o’clock and the magenta indexes are striking but could feel niche to some. Finally, placing Miss Piggy directly on the dial—much like Kermit in the earlier edition—would have given the star of the show a more prominent spotlight.
