Following the debut of the G.F.J. collection during its 160th anniversary celebrations, Zenith continues to develop this elegant dress watch line with two new limited editions distinguished by rare stone dials and refined materials. Case Design and Proportions

Both new G.F.J. models share identical case dimensions, measuring 39.15 mm in diameter, 10.50 mm in thickness, and 45.15 mm lug-to-lug. The case architecture is defined by a stepped bezel and sculpted lugs, finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces that enhance the overall depth and sophistication.

To enhance durability, the movement now incorporates spring-mounted jewel settings that help protect the balance staff. In addition, a hacking seconds mechanism has been introduced, allowing for precise time-setting down to the exact second.

The caliber operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and features a large balance wheel fitted with regulation screws, paired with a Breguet overcoil to improve isochronism and stability. Zenith has retained the signature double-arrow regulator, enabling precise fine-tuning of the movement. Certified by the COSC, the caliber is adjusted to achieve an accuracy of within ±2 seconds per day, underscoring its strong chronometric performance.

G.F.J. Bloodstone: Natural Stone Meets Classic Gold

The first of the two new models pairs an 18K yellow gold case with a striking bloodstone dial. This natural material, composed of green chalcedony with red hematite inclusions, ensures that each dial is unique, with subtle variations in pattern and tone.

The dial is constructed in multiple layers, beginning with a central section in bloodstone. This is complemented by a small seconds subdial crafted from mother-of-pearl, adding contrast and depth. After years of anticipation following its acquisition by Breitling, Universal Genève officially returns with a comprehensive relaunch that pays tribute to its heritage while introducing a distinctly modern vision.

The historic Swiss manufacture, founded in 1894, re-enters the spotlight with four main collections: Polerouter, Compax, Cabriolet, and Disco Mini. Alongside these, the brand also introduces exclusive Signature and Couture editions, reinforcing its renewed positioning under the “Watch Couturier” concept.

The relaunch blends archival inspiration with contemporary design language, premium finishing, and newly developed In-house calibres, many of them staying faithful to Universal Genève’s legacy of ultra-thin micro-rotor movements.

The Return of the Polerouter

The legendary Polerouter, originally designed by Gérald Genta, naturally takes center stage in the new lineup.

Faithful to the original design, the modern Polerouter preserves its recognizable case architecture and signature crosshair dial layout. The collection is offered in 37 mm and 39 mm case sizes, available in stainless steel and rose gold.

Dial options include elegant blue, brown, and black tones, paired with leather straps or a vintage-inspired Gay Frères-style “four bricks” bracelet, a nod to the historical references collectors admire.

For those seeking something more expressive, Universal Genève introduces Capsule Editions with more decorative dial executions. These feature a quadrant-style camaïeu dial effect, where alternating textures create subtle visual contrast across the dial surface.

Among the standout references are versions with tiger’s eye and lapis lazuli stone dials, adding a luxurious and highly collectible dimension to the Polerouter line.

A ceramic bezel insert modernizes the design while improving durability, and buyers can choose between leather straps, bund straps, or a vintage-style steel bracelet.

Designed primarily for a feminine audience, the Disco Mini also includes interchangeable straps and high-jewellery variations.

Combining elegant proportions with practical travel functionality, the new model blends dress-watch refinement with everyday utility, while introducing premium materials such as a ceramic bezel and semi-precious stone dials.

The result is a distinctive release that stays true to Baltic’s vintage-inspired design language while bringing something entirely new to the collection.

Compact 37mm Steel Case with Refined Proportions

The Baltic Heures du Monde is housed in a 37 mm stainless steel case, a notably compact size for a worldtimer-style watch. This smaller diameter gives the watch a more refined and versatile presence on the wrist, making it suitable for both formal and casual settings.

Its proportions are enhanced by a wide overhanging bezel, which visually increases the watch’s presence while preserving comfortable wearability. This design choice gives the piece a stronger visual footprint without sacrificing the elegant dimensions that Baltic is known for.

The Heures du Monde introduces Baltic’s first interpretation of the worldtimer complication.

Instead of a conventional GMT hand, the watch uses a rotating 24-hour ring positioned around the dial’s outer edge. This ring works in conjunction with the city scale engraved on the ceramic bezel, allowing the wearer to read multiple global time zones simultaneously.

An arrow marker at 6 o’clock assists with alignment and setting, making the system intuitive to use. The 24-hour scale also includes a day/night indication, with contrasting colors that help distinguish daytime and nighttime hours at a glance.

This practical layout reinforces the watch’s travel-oriented functionality while maintaining a clean and balanced dial design.

Soprod Automatic Movement Inside

Powering the Heures du Monde is the Soprod C125 automatic movement, adapted here to support the rotating 24-hour world time display.

The movement offers a 42-hour power reserve, providing reliable daily performance and modern convenience.

Turning the watch over reveals a solid caseback decorated with a stylized globe motif, a fitting visual reference to the worldtimer theme.

Baltic has also announced that the first 200 examples of each dial variant will be individually numbered, giving early buyers an additional collectible detail, although the model itself is not a limited edition.

Our Take

Once again, Baltic doesn’t disappoint its fans — ourselves included — bringing to the table, this time, a GMT-inspired world time complication that marks an absolute first for the brand. Rather than following the traditional route, Baltic has chosen a more distinctive approach, using a city bezel working in partnership with an inner 24-hour ring, a clever solution that helps the watch stand apart from the crowd.

Personally, we might have found it more natural to see this complication paired with a classic smooth dial in a solid color. However, that was not the brand’s chosen interpretation, opting instead for semi-precious stone dials. While this design choice may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it certainly adds character and individuality to the collection, and it may well grow on many enthusiasts over time.

For now, at first glance, our favorite remains the Tiger’s Eye variant.

The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour “Celestial” is housed in a stainless steel case measuring 40.50 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 12.80 mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 47 mm. The finishing alternates between circular brushing on the upper surface and polished accents on the bezel, lugs, and case flanks, creating a refined contrast of textures. An onion-shaped crown positioned at 3 o’clock ensures easy winding and time adjustment while reinforcing the model’s traditional character.

The watch is available with either a solid stainless steel caseback or a sapphire exhibition caseback, allowing a view of the movement inside.

Automatic Movement with Jump-Hour Module

Inside the case beats the automatic Sellita SW200, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). The movement is equipped with 25 jewels and delivers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. Mounted on top of this base calibre is the JJ01 jump-hour module developed by Christopher Ward. This module enables the instantaneous jumping hour display positioned at 12 o’clock, where the hour is shown digitally through an aperture rather than via a traditional hour hand. The hours change precisely at the top of each hour, while the minutes are indicated centrally by a single hand.

Celestial-Inspired Dial Construction

The defining feature of the “Celestial” edition lies in its distinctive two-part dial construction. The outer ring is made from aventurine glass, a material known for its deep blue tone and sparkling metallic inclusions that evoke the appearance of a star-filled night sky. The minute track is printed in silver directly onto this aventurine surface, integrating the time display into the celestial theme.

At the center of the dial sits a disc of white mother-of-pearl mimics the moon, selected for its natural iridescence and subtle tonal variations. This luminous central element contrasts with the darker outer ring and serves as the backdrop for the polished and brushed Fears-style minute hand.

For this anniversary edition, Fears has introduced newly designed Breguet-inspired numerals, created in-house and used for both the minute scale and the jump-hour display. To maintain visual balance and reduce distraction from the dial composition, the Fears logo has been relocated to the 6 o’clock position, placed above the “England” designation.

It is offered on a blue Barenia calf leather strap or on a five-row stainless steel bracelet featuring brushed and polished finishing. Atelier Wen’s Millésime Perception Xuán Adds Pietersite To The Series

With the Millésime Perception Xuán, Atelier Wen places the dial at the centre of the watch’s identity, introducing natural pietersite as the defining material of this year’s edition. The new model follows the 2024 titanium Millésime release while preserving the core Perception case and bracelet design.

The Perception line represents Atelier Wen’s modern sports watch platform, combining contemporary case construction with design references rooted in Chinese culture and traditional craftsmanship. The Millésime editions serve as a yearly variation within this framework, produced in limited quantities and shaped by feedback from the brand’s community.

Case and Construction

The Millésime Perception Xuán retains the established Perception case, manufactured from 904L stainless steel. The case measures 40 mm in diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and 9.40 mm in thickness, including the sapphire crystal. Alternately brushed and polished surfaces define the angular case geometry, while the slim profile keeps the watch visually balanced on the wrist.

A double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. On the reverse, the semi-display caseback features a hammered texture and Atelier Wen’s stone lion emblem, offering a partial view of the movement. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

Pietersite Dial

The defining feature of the Millésime Xuán is its four-layer dial crafted from natural pietersite. Known for its fibrous structure and complex colour shifts, pietersite displays swirling patterns in deep blue and black tones, accented by gold and brown highlights. Each dial presents a unique appearance due to the natural variability of the stone.

Manufacturing the dial involves multiple specialised steps. The twelve openings for the applied hour markers are wire-cut by hand in Zhejiang, a process required due to the brittleness of pietersite. Final polishing is carried out in Guangdong. The result is a dial with pronounced depth and a layered visual effect.

Surrounding the dial is a chapter ring decorated with a traditional Chinese huiwen motif, filled with Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. The applied markers and hands are also luminescent, ensuring functional legibility despite the expressive dial surface.

Movement

Powering the watch is the customised Dandong Peacock SL1588A automatic movement. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Each movement is regulated by Atelier Wen to an accuracy of ±10 seconds per day following adjustment in five positions and temperature testing.

Bracelet and Clasp

The integrated tapered bracelet is produced from 904L stainless steel to match the case and features chamfered links with alternating finishes. The bracelet includes quick-release spring bars for tool-free removal and a proprietary on-the-fly micro-adjustment system integrated into the clasp for precise sizing.

Availability and Price

The Atelier Wen Millésime Perception Xuán will be available through a time-limited ordering window from 28 January to 6 February 2026. Early access is offered to members of the Atelier Wen community. The first 225 pieces are scheduled for delivery in Q2 2026, with additional orders expected in Q4 2026.

The Swedish brand Anders & Co expands its AC2 collection with the Volcán series, introducing a range of dress watches defined by their use of natural stone dials. Designed with compact proportions, a notably slim profile, and a restrained aesthetic, the AC2 Volcán models place their emphasis on materials and execution while remaining positioned at an accessible price point.

Dial Variants and Layout

The defining feature of the AC2 Volcán collection is its use of stone dials, each cut from a single piece of material to ensure that no two examples are identical. The collection is available in five different stone options: aventurine, turquoise, charoite, rubilite, and red agate. Each stone introduces a distinct visual character, ranging from the sparkling depth of aventurine to the organic swirling patterns of charoite, as well as the saturated hues found in turquoise and red agate.

The dial design itself remains deliberately minimal. Faceted dauphine-style hands are combined with slim applied baton hour markers, while branding is limited to a discreet printed wordmark. This pared-back approach allows the natural stone surface to remain the primary focus. The red agate version is further differentiated by the use of Eastern Arabic numerals, giving this variant a unique identity within the lineup.

The AC2 Volcán is housed in a stainless steel cushion-shaped case, a form commonly associated with mid-century dress watches. The case measures 37 mm in width, with a lug-to-lug distance of 44.60 mm, ensuring balanced proportions and a comfortable fit on a wide range of wrist sizes. At just 5.65 mm thick, the watch maintains an ultra-slim profile that allows it to sit close to the wrist and easily slide under a shirt cuff.

Polished surfaces, sharp lines, and well-defined angles give the case a refined appearance, reinforcing the formal nature of the watch while providing enough structure to frame the stone dials effectively.

Movement

Inside the case, the AC2 Volcán is powered by the Miyota 9T22 quartz movement. This caliber was selected primarily for its thin construction, which plays a key role in achieving the watch’s slim overall profile. The absence of a seconds hand contributes to the clean, symmetrical dial layout and helps preserve the traditional appearance expected of a dress watch.

Our Take

The new Anders & Co AC2 Volcán watches present themselves as elegant timepieces that naturally sit within the dress watch category. The decision to omit the seconds hand feels well judged, creating a clean dial that leaves room for ambiguity as to whether the watch is powered by a mechanical or quartz movement—something that, for purists, remains the proverbial elephant in the room. Among the lineup, the Red Agate stands out for us, not only because of its rich tone but also due to the inclusion of Eastern Arabic numerals, a design element we are avowed fans of. While we would like to spend time with the watch in hand to form a more complete assessment, what we have seen so far is certainly convincing.

Baltic expands its Prismic series with the introduction of the 2025 Prismic Stone Collection, now joining the brand’s permanent offering. After debuting as limited showroom-exclusive pieces in 2024, the concept returns in a full-production format featuring dials crafted from Pietersite, Pink Albite, Bloodstone, and Dumortierite. Each dial is cut from genuine mineral stone, ensuring that every watch displays its own individual textures and natural variations.

Case Architecture: Slim, Compact, and Multi-Material

The new collection maintains the familiar Prismic case profile, which blends vintage elegance with contemporary construction. With a 36 mm diameter, 9.20 mm thickness including the double-domed sapphire crystal, and 44 mm lug-to-lug length the watch retains the refined proportions that originally defined the series.

Baltic continues to use a combination of materials to achieve the right balance of sturdiness and lightness. The bezel, lugs, and caseback are made from 316L stainless steel, while the mid-case is crafted from grain-finished Grade 5 titanium, reducing weight without sacrificing strength. The stepped bezel brings together a polished upper ring with a circular-brushed lower surface, while the lugs are polished on top and horizontally brushed along the sides. The watch offers 30 metres of water-resistance.

Stone Dials: Four Minerals, Four Distinct Personalities

The centrepiece of the collection is its set of stone dials. Pietersite introduces swirling patterns with shifting optical effects; Pink Albite brings lighter tones with a soft, cloudy crystalline appearance; Bloodstone offers deeper hues punctuated by natural speckling; and Dumortierite presents a rich blue colour with subtle mineral grain.

To highlight these surfaces, Baltic keeps the dial design restrained. The watch features applied polished hour markers and brushed Dauphine hands with polished facets that offer contrast without overpowering the stone beneath. A small seconds display sits at 6 o’clock on a snailed subdial, maintaining the symmetry of the layout.

Movement Update: La Joux-Perret D100

For this edition, Baltic fits the watches with the La Joux-Perret D100, a hand-wound Swiss movement. The calibre provides a 50-hour power reserve while remaining exceptionally thin at 2.50 mm, a key factor enabling the Prismic to remain one of the slimmest watches in Baltic’s catalogue. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, where its bridges and barrel feature contemporary decorative finishes.

Strap and Bracelet Options

The collection is offered with two different wearing options. The first is a slim Italian calf leather strap, designed to complement the vintage-inspired aesthetic of the case.
