In 2023, a client with a deep appreciation for red challenged Artisans de Genève to create a timepiece fully inspired by this color. No technical or time-related limits were imposed, allowing the artisans to explore and push their craftsmanship to new heights.

The Challenges: Ruby Bezel and Red Sapphire Dial

Two central challenges defined this project:

  • The Bezel: A bespoke creation set with rubies of exceptional quality, requiring the expertise of gemologists, lapidaries, gemsetters, and polishers.

  • The Dial: The workshop’s first-ever red sapphire dial, a groundbreaking technical and artistic achievement that gives the timepiece its singular identity.

This project was only possible thanks to the collaboration of a wide range of artisans — from engineers to master watchmakers — who combined their skills to deliver a truly one-of-a-kind watch.
