Certina Unveils Teal Blue DS Super PH1000M For Sea Turtle Conservancy

It was at the end of last year that we announced here the arrival of the new Certina DS Super PH1000M in two versions, including a beautiful limited edition with an orange dial, and today the brand is once again launching a new variant with a teal blue dial in a special edition for to STC.

STC is the Sea Turtle Conservancy a non-profit organization created in 2017 that, through various actions and initiatives, aims to protect the lives of turtles in danger, with whom Certina has a long-standing connection, supporting them.

The new DS Super PH1000M STC, like its black and orange siblings, is inspired by the design of the 70s, embracing a robust Tonneau-shaped stainless steel case measuring 43.50mm in diameter and 14mm thick with a mainly brushed finish, unidirectional bezel with 60-minutes scale insert matching the tone of the dial, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, recessed Helium escape valve at 9 o’clock, screwed solid case back with the Turtle STC logo and 1,000m waterproof.

The teal blue dial comes with applied square and baton-shaped hour markers at 12-6-9 o’clock as the 3 o’clock position is occupied by a date window, which like the three centre hands are all filled with Super-LumiNova, a white minute track rehaut with orange hour tips matching the pencil minute hand and finally, the brand’s inscriptions at noon preceded by “Automatic” of the movement and on the opposite side at 6 o’clock the collection name.

Inside there is no room for doubt in finding the ETA Powermatic 80 automatic movement as the Certina is part of the Swatch Group umbrella. It has 25 jewels, runs 21,600 Vph and offers a comfortable 80h of power reserve.
The watch now arrives attached to an FKM rubber strap with orange stitching, thus moving up a level given the clear increase in quality, with a steel pin buckle and 20mm lug width, which is now available for the price of CHF 915.
