Seiko Unveils Presage Classic Series Arita Porcelain HCC007 And 36mm HCC004

To celebrate its 145th anniversary, Seiko continues to enrich its Presage lineup with two new limited editions that highlight the brand’s expertise in combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with mechanical watchmaking. The latest additions to the Presage Classic Series arrive in the form of the Craftsmanship Arita Porcelain Dial HCC007 and the more compact 36 mm HCC004, each offering a distinct interpretation of elegance and refinement.

Seiko Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship Arita Porcelain Dial HCC007

The standout release of the pair is undoubtedly the new Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship Arita Porcelain Dial HCC007, a watch that places traditional Japanese porcelain artistry at the center of its design.

The dial is crafted in Arita, a region renowned for porcelain production for more than four centuries. Overseen by master craftsman Hiroyuki Hashiguchi and executed by Toshiaki Kawaguchi and his team, the dial introduces a rich cobalt glaze inspired by the historical “Seiko Blue” tone developed during the 1960s.

Unlike conventional porcelain dials, the material used here has been reinforced to improve durability while maintaining the refined texture associated with traditional Arita ceramics. Seiko also worked extensively on the glazing process to preserve the visibility of the radiating relief pattern beneath the translucent surface. The result is a dial that shifts in tone depending on how light interacts with it, adding depth and character to the watch.

Applied hour markers and polished hands provide strong contrast against the vivid blue background, ensuring excellent legibility while preserving the elegant aesthetic of the piece.

The watch comes housed in a newly designed stainless steel case measuring 39.60 mm in diameter and 12.80 mm thick. The case features softer lines and more refined proportions than previous Presage models, while a dual-curved sapphire crystal enhances the classic profile. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

Powering the HCC007 is Seiko’s automatic Calibre 6R51, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivering a generous 72-hour power reserve. The movement supports the watch’s practical everyday usability while remaining faithful to the dress-oriented nature of the collection.

The Seiko Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship Arita Porcelain Dial HCC007 will be limited to 1,500 pieces and priced at € 1,800. Availability is scheduled for July 2026.

Seiko Presage Classic Series 36mm HCC004

Alongside the porcelain model, Seiko also introduces the more understated Presage Classic Series 36 mm HCC004, a watch focused on compact proportions and subtle detailing.

The dial features a delicate woven-inspired texture finished in a soft white shade referencing shironeri, the pure white tone associated with traditional silk refining in Japan. Adding contrast to the monochromatic dial are blue hands and hour markers inspired by Seiko Blue, tying the watch visually to its anniversary sibling.

Its compact 36 mm stainless steel case reinforces the vintage-inspired character of the piece, while the gently curved surfaces and decorated bezel contribute to the refined appearance associated with the Presage Classic Series.

Inside, Seiko equips the HCC004 with the same automatic Calibre 6R51 found in the porcelain edition. The movement delivers 3-days of power reserve, offering modern practicality despite the watch’s elegant and dress-focused positioning.

The Seiko Presage Classic Series 36mm HCC004 will be produced in a limited run of 2,500 pieces and priced at € 1,050. The watch is expected to arrive in boutiques in June 2026.

Credor continues to showcase its mastery of ultra-thin watchmaking and traditional Japanese craftsmanship with the Goldfeather GCBY991, a refined dress watch distinguished by an Imari Nabeshima porcelain dial and an unusually restrained stainless steel case.

The Goldfeather name traces its origins back to 1960, when Seiko introduced a series of exceptionally thin mechanical watches driven by pioneering in-house movements. These early calibres set benchmarks for slimness in their era and later became integral to Credor’s identity when the brand was formally established in 1974. Reintroduced as a modern collection in 2023, the Goldfeather line now serves as a platform for artisanal dials produced using traditional Japanese techniques.

Imari Nabeshima Porcelain Dial

At the centre of the GCBY991 is a handcrafted porcelain dial produced at the Hataman Touen kiln, a workshop renowned for preserving the Imari Nabeshima tradition. This porcelain style originated in Okawachiyama during Japan’s Edo period and was historically reserved for the ruling elite. Today, it remains one of the country’s officially protected artistic crafts.

The dial is formed from a translucent white porcelain base that is carefully shaped, fired, and polished down to approximately 1mm in thickness. A rich cobalt-blue glaze creates a soft gradient that transitions from a lighter tone at the centre to deeper saturation around the edges. Before glazing, blue feather motifs are applied to the surface, while a secondary set of ghost-like, semi-transparent feathers and the hour markers are added after glazing. This layered process, which involves multiple firings, results in notable visual depth despite the dial’s extreme thinness.

The gently curved surface of the porcelain is protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal. Matching this curvature, the minute hand features a subtly bent tip to follow the dial’s contour, ensuring precise legibility along the outer track.

Case and Proportions

Unlike many previous Goldfeather models crafted in precious metals, the GCBY991 is housed in stainless steel. The case measures 37.10 mm in diameter and just 8.30 mm in thickness, reinforcing its role as a traditional dress watch. The bezel and elongated lugs are finished using Zaratsu polishing, producing distortion-free surfaces with sharp transitions. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres.

Ultra-Thin Mechanical Movement

Powering the watch is the manually wound Credor calibre 6890, an ultra-thin movement measuring only 1.98mm in height. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of approximately 37 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, where its curved bridges are decorated with broad striping and chamfered edges. The caseback is also engraved with the Hataman Touen kiln emblem, referencing the dial’s origin.

Strap and Availability

The watch is delivered on a black crocodile leather strap, secured by a stainless steel triple-folding clasp with push-button release. Production is limited to 60 pieces. The Credor Goldfeather Imari Nabeshima Porcelain Dial GCBY991 is scheduled for release in February 2026, with a retail price set at € 15,000.
