New IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX In Titanium Honors Patrouille Suisse

IWC has just presented the first Mark XX in titanium with a grey dial that pays homage to Patrouille Suisse.

The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX has a long history that goes back to the era of the Dirty Dozen commissioned by the British Ministry of Defense during World War II to supply its soldiers, it was only in 1990 that the brand decided to open the doors to a civilian version that would give rise to the Mark XII, since then many versions have emerged, with the last one as we know it today appearing in 2022 called Mark XX.

The IWC Mark XX brought a movement with a greater power reserve, a thinner case and a refurbished dial as its main novelty. The watch that was available until today with a stainless steel case, four colour options on the dial (black, blue, green or white), and attached to a steel bracelet or strap, now has a new titanium variant with a grey dial.

The new Mark XX IW328209 is a limited edition of 250 units that celebrates 60 years of the Swiss Air Force Acrobatic Team, reinforcing the partnership between the two entities since 1994.

Like its siblings, the watch wears a round case with dimensions of 40mm wide, 10.60mm high and 49mm long, which comes in blasted titanium. Smooth bezel, sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, screwed case back and 100m of water resistance.

The grey dial features a sunray-brushed finish, white Arabic numerals and a triangle between dots at noon, black outlined hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a centre seconds hand with a red tip, a date window with a white background next to the crown and finally the inscriptions of the brand at 12 o’clock and “Mark XX” followed by “Automatic” at 6 o’clock.

The titanium case back with the Patrouille Suisse tribute engraving hides the 163-component Manufactured-calibre 32111 automatic movement that operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 5 days of power reserve.

IWC’s new pilot’s watch is attached to a black textile strap with a signed titanium pin buckle and is now available for €7,250.
