Celebrating 60 Years Of PADI: Seiko Reveals The Prospex HBB002

Seiko continues its long-standing partnership with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) by introducing the new Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002. The release commemorates two important milestones: PADI’s 60th anniversary in 2026 and a decade of collaboration between Seiko and the world’s largest diving training organization.

Built on the popular King Turtle platform, the new limited edition combines the robust specifications of one of Seiko’s most recognizable dive watches with a dial design created specifically for the anniversary celebration.

A Distinctive Anniversary Dial

The standout feature of the new HBB002 is undoubtedly its commemorative dial. Inspired by PADI’s 60th-anniversary logo, the dial incorporates blue and red accents while featuring a globe motif that spans its surface, emphasizing the international reach of the diving organization.

The blue dial is complemented by a red central seconds hand and matching red “Diver’s 200m” text above the six o’clock marker. Applied hour markers and broad hands are filled with Seiko’s Lumibrite luminous material, ensuring excellent visibility in low-light and underwater conditions. A day-date display positioned at 3 o’clock is magnified through a cyclops lens integrated into the sapphire crystal.

Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, while a blue ceramic bezel insert adds durability and a premium touch to the overall design.

The Familiar King Turtle Case

The watch retains the iconic King Turtle architecture that has become a favorite among Seiko dive-watch enthusiasts. Its stainless steel case measures 45 mm in diameter and 13.20 mm in thickness, featuring the characteristic cushion-shaped profile and screw-down crown positioned at 4 o’clock.

Alternating brushed and polished surfaces provide visual contrast, while the ergonomic case shape helps improve comfort despite its substantial dimensions. As expected from a professional dive watch, the HBB002 offers water resistance of up to 200 meters.

Powered by the Calibre 4R36

Inside the case is Seiko’s proven automatic Calibre 4R36. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz), the movement delivers approximately 41 hours of power reserve when fully wound.

The movement supports both hand-winding and hacking seconds functionality, making it a reliable choice for everyday wear as well as recreational diving applications.

Bracelet and Additional Strap

The Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 is supplied on a stainless steel bracelet equipped with a three-fold clasp, push-button release system, and diver’s extension for use over a wetsuit.

In addition, Seiko includes a black silicone strap featuring the full “Professional Association of Diving Instructors” name, offering a sportier alternative for underwater use.

The Seiko Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 will be available from July 2026 as a limited edition of 8,000 pieces worldwide. Pricing is set at € 750, making it an accessible commemorative model that combines the proven capabilities of the King Turtle platform with exclusive anniversary-themed details celebrating one of diving’s most influential organizations.
