Montblanc Unveils New “Great Characters” Collection Honoring Queen
Montblanc expands its Great Characters series with a new tribute to one of rock’s most iconic bands: Queen. Through five expertly crafted writing instruments, the Maison captures the band’s creativity, individuality, and lasting cultural impact.
For more than 50 years, Queen has defied musical boundaries, blending rock, pop, glam, funk, and opera into unforgettable hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, and The Show Must Go On. The collection celebrates the unique talents of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor, whose combined artistry shaped their legendary sound.

The Special Edition takes inspiration from Greatest Hits II, featuring dark blue precious resin with gold accents. Engravings pay tribute to each member’s instrument, while the clip recalls Mercury’s iconic microphone stand and the cap top references the crown he wore during God Save the Queen.
The Limited Edition 1975, created in 1,975 pieces, is a homage to A Night at the Opera. It incorporates Mercury’s harlequin pattern and engraved portraits of all four musicians, along with a rhodium-plated gold bezel showing Mercury in his Made in Heaven pose.

The Limited Edition 95 honors Queen’s legendary 1985 Live Aid performance. This edition features a skeletonized gold cap engraved with the concert’s setlist, contrasted against black lacquer, and includes Mercury’s crown and the band’s logo.
Limited to 30 pieces, the Limited Edition 30 celebrates the 30th anniversary of Made in Heaven. It features blue lacquer grooves inspired by vinyl, sapphire-set crown motifs, and a cone inlaid with wood from Roger Taylor’s drumsticks intertwined with Brian May’s guitar strings.

The Limited Edition 8, the rarest of the collection, draws inspiration from Mercury’s regal stage outfits. Crafted in yellow gold with crimson lacquer, diamonds, and sapphires, it reflects Queen’s theatrical grandeur and marks the upcoming 80th anniversary of Mercury’s birth in 2026.
With this collection, Montblanc pays tribute to Queen’s unmatched legacy, celebrating creativity, reinvention, and musical genius.
