Atelier Wen Perception V3 Debuts With French Manufacture Movement And New Bamboo Green Dial
Independent watchmaker Atelier Wen has unveiled the third generation of its flagship integrated-bracelet sports watch, the Perception V3. The latest evolution of the collection combines the brand’s dedication to Chinese artisanal craftsmanship with a newly adopted French manufacture movement, marking a significant technical and aesthetic milestone for the young brand.
A New French Heart
The most important update to the Perception V3 lies beneath the dial. Replacing the previous Dandong SL1588 caliber is the new Pequignet EPM03 automatic movement, developed and manufactured by French watchmaker Pequignet in Morteau, France.
The EPM03 offers a substantial improvement in performance, featuring a 65-hour power reserve compared to the 41 hours provided by its predecessor. Accuracy is also enhanced, with the movement regulated to run within -4/+6 seconds per day. For the first time in the Perception collection, the movement incorporates a hacking seconds function, allowing for precise time-setting.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement has been customized exclusively for Atelier Wen. The bridges have been redesigned with decorative patterns inspired by traditional Chinese motifs representing wind, while mirror-polished aventurine lacquer accents add a distinctive visual signature that reinforces the brand’s cross-cultural identity.
Signature Guilloché Dial
The Perception V3 continues to showcase one of Atelier Wen’s defining features: its handcrafted guilloché dial.
Produced by master craftsmen in China, the dial displays the intricate geometric pattern that has become synonymous with the Perception collection. The textured surface creates dynamic light reflections while maintaining excellent legibility thanks to applied hour markers and faceted hands.
At launch, Atelier Wen offers the Perception V3 in three dial variants. Returning from the previous generation are the Piāo edition with a deep blue dial and the Xiá edition featuring a salmon-colored dial, both paired with the collection’s signature guilloché pattern and a combination of brushed and polished finishes throughout the case and bracelet.
Joining the collection for the first time is the Yún edition, distinguished by a bamboo green dial. It marks the first new color introduced to the Perception family since the original model debuted and further differentiates itself through a frosted finish applied to the case and bracelet, creating a unique visual character compared to the other versions.
Refined Integrated Sports Watch Design
While the Perception V3 retains the familiar integrated-bracelet architecture of previous generations, subtle adjustments have been made to accommodate the new movement.
The stainless steel case maintains a diameter of 40 mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 47 mm, while thickness increases slightly to 10.4mm from the previous 9.40 mm. Despite the modest increase, the watch remains relatively slim for an integrated sports watch and preserves the balanced proportions that have contributed to the success of the Perception collection.
The integrated bracelet continues to flow seamlessly into the case and features a combination of finely executed finishing techniques that enhance the watch’s contemporary sports-luxury aesthetic.

The Atelier Wen Perception V3 is priced at € 4,200 and is available in all three dial configurations. With its upgraded French manufacture movement, bespoke finishing, and continued emphasis on traditional Chinese craftsmanship, the latest Perception represents the most advanced and refined version of Atelier Wen’s flagship collection to date.
