MeisterSinger marks its 25th anniversary with another interpretation of the Edition Unitas 1Z, this time introducing a distinctive light-blue grand feu enamel dial. Limited to just 25 pieces, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue combines the brand’s characteristic single-hand display with a manually wound Unitas movement and traditional decorative techniques.

A New Take on an Anniversary Design

The Edition Unitas 1Z Blue follows the earlier anniversary model inspired by MeisterSinger’s original 2004 Edition 1Z, notable for being the brand’s first watch fitted with a genuine enamel dial. The new version retains the same 40 mm stainless steel case while introducing a significant first for MeisterSinger: a coloured enamel dial.

The case uses a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. The sides are brushed, while the bezel and lugs receive a polished finish, creating a contrast that highlights its relatively traditional proportions. A large fluted crown carries MeisterSinger’s logo and adds another period-inspired detail.

Sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a second sapphire crystal in the caseback provides a view of the movement. The individually numbered caseback reflects the limited production of the watch, while 50 metres of water resistance provides everyday protection.

Light Blue Grand Feu Enamel Dial

The dial is the defining element of the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue. MeisterSinger produces it using traditional grand feu enamel techniques, applying finely powdered enamel to a copper base before firing it repeatedly at temperatures approaching 800°C.

This process creates a glossy surface with considerable visual depth, while also making each dial a product of a demanding traditional craft.

The light-blue background is paired with black hour numerals and medium-blue details. The latter are used for the 30-minute indications and the inner elapsed-minutes scale, while small red accents provide additional contrast.

The layout follows MeisterSinger’s familiar approach to telling time with a single hand. Rather than displaying hours and minutes simultaneously with conventional hour and minute hands, the long heat-blued steel hand points towards the appropriate position on the peripheral scale. The double-digit hour numerals and minute markings allow the wearer to read the time to approximately five-minute intervals.

This slower, broader approach to reading time is central to MeisterSinger’s single-hand concept, while the large dial gives the display plenty of room to breathe.

A Pocket-Watch Movement at Heart

Powering the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is the manually wound ETA/Unitas 6497, a movement originally developed for pocket watches. Its generous dimensions make it particularly appropriate for the 40 mm case, filling much of the available space and creating a strong visual presence through the exhibition caseback.

For this edition, MeisterSinger enhances the movement with traditional finishing details. Geneva stripes decorate the bridges, while blued screws add colour and contrast. A swan-neck fine-adjustment regulator provides another classic mechanical detail.

The hand-wound calibre operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers approximately 46 hours of power reserve.

Mahogany Calfskin Strap

Completing the watch is a mahogany calfskin leather strap with an embossed crocodile pattern. The strap is secured by a double-folding clasp, matching the watch’s more formal character while providing a practical fastening system.

With its combination of coloured grand feu enamel, a traditional hand-wound movement and a single-hand display, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue occupies a distinctive position within MeisterSinger’s anniversary collection.

Seiko Revisits Its First Wristwatch With The Presage Classic HCC005 & HCC006

The 1913 Laurel holds a special place in Seiko’s history as Japan’s first wristwatch, and its distinctive design now provides the foundation for two new additions to the Presage Classic “Craftsmanship” collection. The HCC005 and HCC006 combine the Laurel’s classical dial architecture with two traditional Japanese decorative techniques: hand-crafted enamel and urushi lacquer.

Rather than reproducing the original watch, Seiko has adapted its defining visual elements for a contemporary mechanical watch. The result is two references with the same dimensions and movement, but distinctly different dial treatments that highlight the character of each artisanal technique.

Laurel-Inspired Design

Both watches feature a 39.60 mm stainless-steel case measuring 12.4mm thick, with 30 metres of water resistance. A dual-curved sapphire crystal protects the dial, with anti-reflective coating applied to improve legibility. The rear of each watch is fitted with a screw-down exhibition caseback, allowing a view of the mechanical movement.

The HCC005 uses stainless steel with a super-hard coating, while the HCC006 receives a yellow gold-coloured finish, giving the two references noticeably different personalities despite their shared proportions.

Their dial layouts are closely tied to the Laurel. Arabic numerals provide the principal hour markers, while a small 24-hour subdial at 6 o’clock adds another historical reference. The HCC005 also reproduces the Laurel’s distinctive red “12”, complemented by blue hands.

HCC005: Traditional Enamel Dial

The HCC005 places its emphasis on a glossy white enamel dial. Creating the surface begins with finely ground enamel applied to a copper base, followed by repeated firing at temperatures approaching 800°C.

This process produces the characteristic depth and smoothness associated with enamel, while also giving the dial excellent resistance to fading over time.

The production is supervised by master enamel artisan Mitsuru Yokosawa, with Kazunori Uchiyama contributing to the work after apprenticing under Yokosawa. Their involvement reflects Seiko’s focus on preserving specialist craftsmanship and passing these techniques to the next generation.

The resulting combination of white enamel, blue hands and the red numeral at 12 creates a particularly faithful interpretation of the Laurel’s visual identity.

HCC006: Japanese Urushi Lacquer

The HCC006 takes the same historical inspiration in a darker direction. Its dial is produced using urushi lacquer, a traditional Japanese technique known for its deep colour, glossy appearance and layered surface.

Rather than relying on a single application, urushi is built up through successive layers of lacquer and polishing. The process creates the rich black appearance of the HCC006 while giving the dial a distinctive visual depth.

The work is carried out under the supervision of lacquer master Isshu Tamura, together with Toshikazu Tsuji, Mitsuki Tsuji and their workshop.

Against the black lacquer surface, the watch uses gold-coloured numerals, indices and hands, creating a strong contrast while maintaining the classical character established by the Laurel-inspired design.

Seiko Calibre 6R5H

Powering both models is Seiko’s manufacture Calibre 6R5H, an automatic movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour.

Its most notable practical specification is a 72-hour power reserve, allowing the watch to continue running for three days when fully wound. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire exhibition caseback.

The combination of a traditional operating frequency and extended power reserve provides a modern mechanical foundation for these craftsmanship-focused Presage models.

Leather Straps

Both references are fitted with supple oil-tanned leather straps sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group.

A three-fold deployant clasp provides the closure, giving the watches a contemporary wearing experience while maintaining the formal character of their classical designs.

Two Interpretations of Japanese Craftsmanship

The HCC005 and HCC006 offer two distinct approaches to the same historical inspiration. The white enamel HCC005 is the closer visual interpretation of the 1913 Laurel, particularly through its white dial, blue hands and red numeral at 12. The HCC006 takes the same foundation and transforms it through black urushi lacquer and gold-coloured detailing.

Both models will join the permanent Presage Classic collection and will be available through Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide from September 2026.

Watch Ho & Co. has joined forces once again with Selten for a highly artisanal limited-edition timepiece inspired by one of Hong Kong’s most recognizable cultural traditions. Created to mark Watch Ho & Co(mmunity)’s third anniversary, the Yum Cha takes its design cues from the traditional tea houses and dim sum culture that played an important role in founder Jackie Ho’s childhood.

Rather than simply referencing the visual identity of Hong Kong, the collaboration incorporates traditional materials, craftsmanship and personal details throughout the watch, from its intricately engraved enamel dial to the illustrated caseback.

A Compact Stainless Steel Case

The Yum Cha is housed in a 38 mm stainless steel case, giving the watch relatively compact proportions suited to a wide range of wrists. Its thickness is 9.95 mm, or 8.35 mm when measured without the crystal, while the lug-to-lug distance is 44.50 mm.

A box-shaped sapphire crystal sits above the dial and is treated with anti-reflective coating to improve legibility while complementing the watch’s vintage-inspired aesthetic. The case is water resistant to 50 metres.

Turning the watch over reveals one of its most personal elements. The solid stainless steel caseback features an original illustration by artist @onehourwatch depicting a young Jackie Ho enjoying a Yum Cha meal with his grandparents.

The caseback also incorporates a restaurant table marker that can be personalised through engraving. Owners can therefore add a meaningful number, giving each example an additional connection to its wearer.

A Dial Inspired by Bamboo Steamers

The most elaborate element of the Yum Cha is undoubtedly its dial, which takes inspiration from the woven bamboo steamers traditionally used to serve dim sum.

The process begins with a silver dial blank that is individually engraved by Selten’s master engraver and enamel specialist, Qin. The surface is divided into roughly 80 sections, with each area receiving numerous precisely cut, polished lines. The cuts vary in direction and depth to reproduce the overlapping appearance of woven bamboo.

The engraved dial then undergoes an extensive Grand Feu enamel process. Multiple layers of transparent enamel are individually fired at temperatures of approximately 800°C, with at least eight firing cycles required before the dial is finally polished by hand.

Around 16.5 hours of work are invested into each dial, while the demanding production process results in a rejection rate of more than 40%.

The finished surface is presented in a Fumé Amber colour, moving from a lighter honey-gold tone at the centre to smoky brown around the perimeter. The combination of translucent enamel and hand engraving causes the bamboo-inspired pattern to change dramatically depending on the angle of the light, alternating between bright reflections and deeper shadows.

Completing the theme are the distinctive hands, whose silhouettes are shaped like tea leaves.

Hand-Wound Sellita Movement

Inside the case is the manually wound Sellita SW210-2 M Power+. The movement provides an extended 65-hour power reserve, allowing the watch to remain running for almost three days when fully wound.

The movement is adjusted in five positions and is specified to achieve an accuracy of approximately ±6 seconds per day.

The manually wound architecture also suits the character of the Yum Cha, reinforcing its traditional, mechanical approach while allowing the decorated dial to remain the visual centrepiece.

Bamboo Steamer Presentation

The Hong Kong tea-house theme continues beyond the watch itself. The Yum Cha is paired with a tan Italian nubuck leather strap handmade by HasNoBounds and secured with a traditional pin buckle.

Each watch is presented inside an authentic handcrafted bamboo steamer basket and accompanied by three bamboo coasters. Even the warranty card has been designed to resemble the red dim sum order cards commonly found in Hong Kong tea houses.

Just ahead of Watches and Wonders 2026, Chronoswiss introduces two new additions to its contemporary Pulse collection: the Pulse GMT Enamel Sky Gold and the Pulse GMT Silver Guilloché. These latest references continue the brand’s evolution beyond its traditional regulator-style watches, combining modern case architecture with refined decorative craftsmanship and a practical dual-time complication.

First introduced last year, the Pulse line marked a new chapter for the brand, moving away from the classical regulator layout that helped define Chronoswiss since the 1980s. Despite this more contemporary direction, the collection preserves several of the maison’s signature elements, including the prominent onion-shaped crown, the coin-edge bezel, and the distinctive multi-level dial construction.

A Contemporary Take on the GMT Complication

At the heart of both new models is the Chronoswiss Manufacture Calibre C.6002, an automatic movement developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), the movement delivers a solid 55-hour power reserve.

Pulse GMT Enamel Sky Gold

The most exclusive of the two releases is the Pulse GMT Enamel Sky Gold, limited to just 50 pieces.

Its 41 mm case is crafted from 5N 18k red gold, paired with a fully integrated matching gold bracelet that reinforces the watch’s luxurious character. The case design combines angular modern lines with the unmistakable Chronoswiss details, creating a distinctive wrist presence.

The true highlight, however, is its remarkable dial execution.

Built on a white-gold base plate, the dial is first decorated with hand-guilloché engraving using traditional century-old machines at the brand’s Lucerne atelier. Deeply rooted in the aesthetic codes established by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the Tradition line remains one of the maison’s most distinctive offerings, combining historical inspiration with a technically expressive architecture.

This year, the collection welcomes fresh interpretations of two emblematic references: the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde and the Tradition GMT. Both models retain the line’s signature openworked dial layout while introducing new materials, colors, and refined complications.

Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde

The new Tradition Seconde Rétrograde arrives in four new executions, each emphasizing the collection’s mechanical character and refined finishing.

Among the highlights is the reference 7037PT/N9/5V6, presented in a 38 mm platinum case with a thickness of 12.70 mm. Its proportions remain elegant and highly wearable, making it well-suited for formal wear while offering a far more technical visual identity than a conventional dress watch.

The watch is powered by the manual-winding Calibre 505 SR, a movement specifically designed around the Tradition collection’s hallmark architecture. Rather than hiding the mechanical components beneath the dial, Breguet places key elements on the front side of the watch. The gear train and balance assembly dominate the lower half of the dial, creating a visually layered and architectural display.

The new Tradition GMT 7067 expands the collection’s travel-oriented offering with a refined dual-time complication and a fresh dial execution.

Housed in a 40 mm platinum case, the watch measures 12.10 mm thick, making it slightly slimmer than the Seconde Rétrograde despite its larger diameter. The case features two crowns, allowing independent adjustment of the local and home time displays.

The most significant addition is the second time zone indication, positioned off-centre toward 7 o’clock. Executed in black with contrasting Arabic numerals, it provides clear legibility while integrating naturally into the Tradition’s asymmetrical layout.

Replacing the retrograde seconds display found on the 7037 is a day/night indicator, which works in conjunction with the home time display and improves practicality for frequent travellers.

One of the standout novelties for 2026 is the dial color. Breguet introduces the first fumé green Grand Feu enamel dial for the Tradition GMT, bringing a contemporary visual twist to the otherwise classically inspired collection.
