Piaget’s Latest Marvel: The Altiplano High Jewellery Métiers d’Art
Piaget has once again elevated the art of ultra-thin watchmaking with its latest masterpiece, the Altiplano High Jewelers Métiers d’Art. Limited to just eight exclusive pieces, this extraordinary creation merges technical brilliance with artistic craftsmanship, showcasing Piaget’s unparalleled expertise in haute horlogerie and high jewelry.
Encased in a 40mm round white gold case that is a mere 7mm thick, this watch is a beacon of elegance and innovation. Its diamond-set lugs seamlessly connect to a bezel that features an exquisite combination of white diamonds and gradient blue sapphires, complemented by Grand Feu Cloisonné enamel detailing. The sapphire crystal on both the front and back enhances the luxurious design, while the crown is adorned with a blue sapphire for a final touch of refinement.
The dial is a true work of art, brought to life by the renowned enamel artist Anita Porchet. It features a mesmerizing blend of blue, green, and lilac hues outlined in intricate gold stripes from 1 to 9 o’clock. This enamel artistry is harmoniously integrated with an openworked design, where diamonds and sapphires echo the vibrant bezel pattern. Adding to the allure, the two central blue hands glide effortlessly over the dial, complemented by the discreet Piaget logo positioned near 8 o’clock.
At the heart of this marvel lies the ultra-thin Caliber 1201D automatic movement, a technical achievement measuring just 3mm in height. This movement is as much a visual delight as it is a mechanical wonder, with bridges adorned with diamonds and sapphires, extending even to areas hidden beneath the enamel dial. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides a robust 44-hour power reserve. The sapphire caseback reveals the meticulously decorated bridges, surrounded by a white gold bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds.
The Piaget Altiplano High Jewelers Métiers d’Art is paired with a luxurious blue alligator leather strap, secured by a white gold clasp. This limited edition is available for €303,000, epitomizing exclusivity and artistry in watchmaking. A testament to Piaget’s legacy, this timepiece is a perfect synthesis of technical innovation and aesthetic grandeur, appealing to collectors and connoisseurs worldwide.
