The Caramulo Museum has officially opened “Magic Formula”, a new exhibition dedicated to the history, technology, and legendary figures of Formula 1. Running from July 18 to October 18, the immersive showcase offers visitors a journey through 75 years of the world’s premier motorsport category.

Spread across two buildings, the exhibition combines iconic race cars, original memorabilia, multimedia installations, and interactive experiences, highlighting the evolution of Formula 1 both on and off the track.

Legendary Formula 1 Cars On Display

Among the highlights is the Lotus 97T, the car in which Ayrton Senna claimed his maiden Formula 1 victory at the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix. Visitors can also admire Nelson Piquet’s Lotus 100T, Nigel Mansell’s Williams FW14, Ayrton Senna’s Williams FW16, Jean Alesi’s Benetton B196 and Jordan 199, Heinz-Harald Frentzen’s Sauber C18, and Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2005, alongside several other machines that defined different generations of Formula 1.

The exhibition is further enriched by an impressive collection of original artifacts linked to some of the sport’s greatest legends, including Juan Manuel Fangio, Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Gilles Villeneuve, Gerhard Berger, and Alain Prost.

A Tribute To Portuguese Motorsport

A dedicated section celebrates Portugal’s contribution to Formula 1, featuring race cars, helmets, race suits, and memorabilia from Nicha Cabral, Pedro Matos Chaves, Pedro Lamy, and Tiago Monteiro.

Among the standout exhibits are Pedro Lamy’s Lotus 107B and the Jordan EJ15 driven by Tiago Monteiro to a memorable third-place finish at the 2005 United States Grand Prix.

An Interactive Formula 1 Experience

Beyond the historic displays, “Magic Formula” offers visitors a variety of interactive attractions, including video projections, racing simulators, digital kiosks, and “The Senna Experience,” an installation designed to immerse fans in the legacy of the three-time Formula 1 World Champion.

Throughout the exhibition, the Caramulo Museum will also host guided tours, educational activities, and themed film nights dedicated to Formula 1.

The exhibition will also play a key role during this year’s Caramulo Motorfestival, where visitors will have the opportunity to see the iconic Copersucar-Fittipaldi Formula 1 car in action during the Caramulo Historic Hillclimb.

For motorsport enthusiasts, “Magic Formula” offers a rare opportunity to experience some of the most iconic cars, drivers, and moments that have shaped Formula 1 over the past 75 years.

McLaren 788HS: The Ultimate Farewell To The 720S Generation

McLaren has unveiled the 788HS, a limited-production supercar that represents the final evolution of the platform introduced with the 720S in 2017. Developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), production is limited to 200 examples worldwide, split between 100 Coupes and 100 Spiders.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 788 hp, enabling the 788HS to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

The new model stands out with a significantly revised aerodynamic package that includes a bespoke front splitter, an S-Duct integrated into the bonnet, forged centre-lock wheels, a fixed rear wing, larger cooling vents, a quad-exhaust system and the largest diffuser ever fitted to a McLaren based on the 720S platform. These upgrades deliver approximately 10% more downforce than the 765LT.

Despite the additional aerodynamic components, McLaren has reduced the car’s dry weight to just 1,265 kg, thanks to its lightweight engineering philosophy.

Inside, the cabin features Senna-derived lightweight seats, extensive carbon-fibre trim and Alcantara upholstery. Every example will be individually commissioned through MSO, allowing owners to create a fully bespoke specification.

With an expected starting price of around € 528,000 (approximately GBP 450,000) before customization, the McLaren 788HS closes the chapter on one of the brand’s most successful supercar generations while offering collectors one of its rarest road cars to date.

Ferrari Revives The Manual Driving Experience With The New 12Cilindri Manuale

Ferrari has unveiled the 12Cilindri Manuale, a new limited-production version of its V12 grand tourer that reintroduces the engagement of a manual transmission through an innovative electronic system. Rather than developing a conventional manual gearbox, the Italian marque has engineered a unique solution that combines the driving feel of a traditional three-pedal setup with the performance and efficiency of its existing eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

A New Take on the Manual Gearbox

At the heart of the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale is the brand’s new Manuale By-Wire system. While the car retains the same eight-speed dual-clutch transmission found in the standard model, the first six forward gears and reverse can now be selected using a classic gated gear lever and a dedicated clutch pedal.

The setup has been designed to recreate the interaction of a traditional manual transmission while relying on advanced electronic controls operating beneath the surface.

The iconic open-metal shift gate is paired with a polished aluminum shift knob, reinforcing the mechanical feel that has become synonymous with Ferrari’s classic manual sports cars.

Electronic Clutch with Authentic Driver Involvement

Unlike a conventional manual gearbox, the clutch pedal is electronically controlled. A dedicated sensor measures the driver’s pedal input and translates it into hydraulic commands that operate the dual-clutch transmission.

The gear lever also incorporates Hall-effect sensors that detect every shift movement with precision, while an electric locking mechanism prevents accidental gear engagement when the vehicle is not operating in Manual mode.

Ferrari has even programmed the system to replicate one of the defining characteristics of traditional manual cars—the possibility of stalling the engine if the clutch is not operated correctly.

Dual Personalities in One Transmission

Starting the vehicle while pressing only the brake pedal activates the standard automatic driving mode, allowing the transmission to function as a conventional dual-clutch gearbox.

However, starting the car with the clutch pedal depressed immediately engages Manual mode, placing the driver in full control of gear selection through the gated shifter.

Drivers can seamlessly return to automatic operation while driving whenever desired. Ferrari notes that seventh and eighth gears remain dedicated to relaxed cruising and long-distance grand touring, emphasizing comfort and efficiency during high-speed travel.

Naturally Aspirated V12 Remains Untouched

Mechanically, the powertrain carries over unchanged from the standard Ferrari 12Cilindri.

Power comes from the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine, producing 819 horsepower and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque. Performance remains uncompromised despite the introduction of the new transmission system.

Ferrari claims the 12Cilindri Manuale accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds, while top speed remains an impressive 340 km/h (211 mph).

Extremely Limited Production

Exclusivity remains a key element of the project. Ferrari will produce only 1,499 examples of the 12Cilindri Manuale, with every car offered through the company’s Tailor Made personalization program, allowing owners to configure highly bespoke specifications.

Official pricing has not yet been announced, although it is expected to command a premium over the standard Ferrari 12Cilindri, reflecting both its rarity and the development of its innovative Manuale By-Wire transmission.

761 HP And Just 900 KG: The First GMA T.50s Niki Lauda Is Here

Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the first customer example of the track-focused T.50s Niki Lauda, the extreme circuit-only sibling of the acclaimed T.50 supercar. Limited to just 25 units worldwide, each car in the series pays tribute to a significant Formula 1 victory achieved by a Gordon Murray-designed racing car.

The inaugural chassis celebrates Gordon Murray’s first Formula 1 victory, secured at the 1974 South African Grand Prix at Kyalami by Carlos Reutemann driving the Brabham BT44. To mark the occasion, the car features a bespoke livery inspired by the colours of the South African flag, complemented by a gloss black number “7” on the sides in reference to Reutemann’s race-winning car number. Inside, a commemorative “Kyalami 1974” plaque further highlights the historical significance of the model.

Designed exclusively for track use, the T.50s Niki Lauda differs substantially from the road-going T.50. At its heart lies a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre Cosworth V12 engine that has been further enhanced for competition duties, producing 761 horsepower at an astonishing 11,500 rpm and delivering 367 lb-ft (497 Nm) of torque at 8,000 rpm.

The lightweight philosophy that defines Gordon Murray Automotive products remains central to the T.50s Niki Lauda. With a kerb weight of just 900 kg, the car offers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio that places it among the most extreme naturally aspirated track cars ever created.

Aerodynamics play an equally important role in the car’s performance credentials. The aggressive bodywork, large rear wing and advanced aerodynamic package generate up to 1,200 kg of downforce, allowing the T.50s Niki Lauda to deliver remarkable grip and stability at high speeds.

Like the road-going T.50, the driver occupies a central seating position, a layout inspired by Formula 1 cars and intended to provide optimal visibility and balance. The compact dimensions of the car further contribute to its agility on circuit.

Production of the T.50s Niki Lauda is limited to just 25 examples, with each car commemorating a different Formula 1 victory from Gordon Murray’s illustrious career. The highly exclusive track machine started at around USD 3 million, with all build slots quickly secured by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

Limited to just 51 units, the special GT3 Touring features a bespoke green paint inspired by the Porsche 356 displayed at the event, along with exclusive details such as unique badging, LED door projectors, a contrasting bonnet stripe, and a specially finished fuel filler cap.

Inside, Porsche has incorporated several heritage-inspired touches, including leather and corduroy upholstery, wood trim accents, a wood-finished gear lever, and “Earls Court 51” embroidery on the headrests. The model also benefits from the GT3 Touring’s optional rear seats, helping recreate the atmosphere of the original 356.

Power comes from the standard GT3’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 503 horsepower, delivering the engaging driving experience that has made the GT3 a benchmark among modern sports cars.

Each example will be delivered with a collection of exclusive accessories, including a bespoke Porsche watch, a 1:18 scale model, a weekend bag, and a commemorative book documenting the project’s development.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Earls Court 51 is priced from £251,951, with production limited to 51 examples worldwide.

BMW has unveiled the Concept M Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, providing the strongest indication yet of what its upcoming high-performance electric sports sedan could look like. A New Era of M Design

The Concept M Neue Klasse introduces BMW M’s future design language, featuring a bold front end where the headlights and kidney grille are integrated into a single horizontal element. Yellow lighting accents, inspired by the BMW M Hybrid V8 race car, are set to become a signature feature of future M models.

The aggressive styling continues with large air intakes, distinctive square-shaped “Track Lights,” muscular rear fenders, and a prominent ducktail spoiler. Aerodynamic components such as the front splitter, hood outlet, and rear diffuser are made from natural-fiber composite materials, while the concept debuts a new Monza Red paint finish.

Modern Performance-Focused Interior

Inside, the concept adopts BMW’s Neue Klasse cockpit layout, combining a panoramic display at the base of the windshield with a driver-oriented central touchscreen.

The cabin features four bucket seats trimmed in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red leather, alongside black nubuck leather used on the steering wheel, door panels, and roll-bar structure. A redesigned center console and M-specific digital graphics further reinforce the car’s sporting character.

Four Motors and 800-Volt Technology

BMW has already confirmed that its future electric M sedan will feature four electric motors, one powering each wheel. Working alongside BMW M Dynamic Performance Control software, the system will continuously optimize power delivery for maximum performance and handling.

The model will also benefit from an 800-volt electrical architecture for faster charging and a battery pack with more than 100 kWh of capacity. BMW’s next-generation cylindrical battery cells and structurally integrated battery housing are designed to improve both efficiency and driving dynamics.

The Concept M Neue Klasse offers a clear preview of BMW M’s electrified future, combining advanced EV technology with the performance-focused DNA that defines the brand.

The shores of Italy’s Lake Como once again became the stage for one of the world’s most prestigious gatherings of automotive excellence as the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este returned for its 2026 edition. This year’s event was particularly significant for A. Lange & Söhne, which celebrated the 15th anniversary of its partnership with the renowned classic car competition.

Held from May 15 to 17 in the elegant gardens of the historic Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, the event brought together around 50 exceptional automobiles competing across eight categories. The coveted “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show” was ultimately awarded to a remarkable 1937 BMW 328 “Bügelfalte”, owned by Stefano Martinoli.

As has become tradition, the winner received far more than a trophy. During the gala dinner, A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmid presented Martinoli with a one-of-a-kind 1815 CHRONOGRAPH “Como Edition”. Crafted in white gold, the special timepiece features a solid pink-gold dial and a hinged cuvette engraved by hand with the coat of arms of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The choice of a chronograph is particularly fitting given the historical connection between precision timekeeping and motorsport. Inside the watch beats Lange’s manually wound chronograph movement, composed of 306 meticulously finished components, each assembled according to the brand’s exacting standards in Glashütte.

The long-standing partnership between the German manufacture and the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is rooted in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, heritage, and technical excellence. Both classic automobiles and fine mechanical watches represent achievements that transcend generations, preserved by passionate owners and collectors who keep these masterpieces alive.

Fifteen years after joining forces, A. Lange & Söhne and the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este continue to celebrate the artistry, engineering, and dedication that define the very best of automotive and horological culture.

AC Cars Reimagines The Classic Cobra With The New GT Coupe

Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic gearbox.

In its most powerful form, the Cobra GT Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds, offering performance to match its dramatic looks.

Despite its sporting credentials, AC Cars describes the GT Coupe as a true grand tourer. The cabin combines leather upholstery, heritage-inspired design elements, analogue and digital displays, climate control, satellite navigation, and electric windows, while offering enough space for occupants over six feet tall.

Measuring around 4.2 meters in length and weighing approximately 1,600 kg, the Cobra GT Coupe remains faithful to the spirit of the original Cobra while meeting modern expectations for comfort and usability.

Production will be highly limited, with prices starting at GBP 234,000 before taxes for the naturally aspirated model and GBP 256,300 before taxes for the supercharged version.

New Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Delivers 1,153 Horsepower

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its first fully dedicated high-performance electric model, the new GT 4-Door, built on the brand’s all-new AMG.EA platform. Unlike previous AMG EVs derived from Mercedes-Benz models, this one was engineered from the ground up to deliver a true AMG driving experience in an electric format.

The new four-door performance coupe features an advanced three-motor setup using compact axial-flux technology, with one motor at the front and two at the rear for enhanced torque vectoring and traction control. The GT55 produces up to 805 horsepower, while the flagship GT63 raises output to an impressive 1,153 horsepower.

Power comes from a 106 kWh 800-volt battery pack featuring vertically arranged cylindrical cells and an innovative oil-cooling system inspired by Mercedes-AMG’s Formula 1 program. The system supports charging speeds above 600 kW, allowing a 10–80% charge in around 11 minutes under ideal conditions.

The sleek body combines active aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of just 0.22, while the interior offers a luxurious and driver-focused environment with performance seats, advanced digital displays, and multiple drive modes.

One of the most distinctive features is AMGFORCE Sport+, which simulates AMG’s iconic V-8 soundtrack and gearshifts through the sound system and seat-integrated vibration technology.

Mercedes-AMG claims the GT55 can sprint from 0–100 kmh in 2.4 seconds, while the GT63 achieves the same in just 2.0 seconds, with both models capable of reaching 300 kmh.
