TAG Heuer Revisits Team Ikuzawa With A New Carrera Glassbox Chronograph
TAG Heuer continues its collaboration with Team Ikuzawa by unveiling a new limited-edition Carrera Chronograph that celebrates one of Japan’s most iconic names in motorsport. Unlike the previous 42mm edition created with Bamford Watch Department in 2023, the latest release adopts the contemporary 39mm Carrera Glassbox Chronograph, combining vintage racing inspiration with the brand’s latest chronograph technology.

Inspired By Team Ikuzawa’s Racing Legacy
The watch draws inspiration from Team Ikuzawa’s Roadmaster stopwatches used throughout the 1970s and 1980s, incorporating the team’s unmistakable red-and-white colour scheme into a cleaner, more instrument-like dial design.

Its stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter and retains the elegant proportions of the Carrera Glassbox collection. The alternating brushed and polished surfaces are complemented by the collection’s signature domed sapphire crystal, which extends seamlessly over the sloped flange to create the “Glassbox” effect while eliminating the need for a traditional bezel. The chronograph pushers adopt a classic pump-style design, while the crown features a distinctive red lacquered ring that echoes the watch’s motorsport-inspired details.
Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback engraved with the Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department logos, together with the individual limitation number. The case also offers 100 metres of water resistance.
Stopwatch-Inspired Dial
The white dial immediately distinguishes this special edition from the regular Carrera Glassbox models. Decorated with a Clou de Paris texture, it takes direct inspiration from Team Ikuzawa’s historic timing instruments, prioritising legibility through printed hour markers instead of the applied indexes found on the standard collection.

Red accents dominate the display, appearing on the TAG Heuer and Team Ikuzawa logos, the lacquered hour and minute hands, the central chronograph seconds hand, and even the angled date disc, where every numeral is printed in the team’s signature colour.
Another distinctive feature is the omission of the running seconds register. This layout, first seen on the previous Team Ikuzawa collaboration, creates space for the Team Ikuzawa signature above the date window at 6 o’clock, while maintaining the chronograph’s 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and 12-hour totaliser at 9 o’clock. Completing the vintage-inspired appearance, the dial also forgoes the tachymeter scale commonly found on modern racing chronographs.
In-House Chronograph Movement
Powering the watch is the manufacture TH20-10 automatic chronograph movement. The calibre features a column wheel and vertical clutch architecture, paired with an efficient bidirectional winding system that delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve, ensuring smooth chronograph operation and extended autonomy.

The watch comes fitted to TAG Heuer’s latest seven-row stainless steel bracelet, while two additional straps are included: a perforated white leather strap with red stitching and a white textile strap with red racing stripes inspired by Team Ikuzawa’s competition colours.
Presented in a toolbox-style collector’s case, the package also includes a travel pouch and a set of Team Ikuzawa-themed charms.

Limited to just 150 pieces, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa is priced at € 10,450.
