Patek Philippe Presents the First Ref. 5270 in Titanium
Patek Philippe, after creating a sensation last year with the launch of the last (to date) Nautilus with Tiffany blue dial in a limited edition of 170 pieces, having been the first of these pieces to be auctioned for more than 6.5 million dollars in favour of The Nature Conservancy, a worldwide non-profit organization, now announces the creation of a unique piece, the first Ref. 5270 in titanium with an emerald green sunburst dial that is also intended to be auctioned for a worthy cause, but this time in favour of Children Action.
This new creation with Ref. 5270T-010, is a perpetual calendar chronograph, despite differing in the type of case material, it has the same shape and dimensions as the previous Ref. 5270, 41mm in diameter by 12.4mm in thickness, concave bezel, crown with the brand’s logo and rectangular pushers, sapphire crystal and 30 meters of water resistance. On the dial the traditional complications, a double day-month window at 12 o’clock, a date indicator with a moon phase aperture at 6 o’clock, two round apertures for the day/night indication and the leap-year, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock ‘clock and a small-seconds at 9 o’clock. Additionally on the dial applied hour markers and three central hands.
Inside, is powered by the Caliber CH 29-535 PS Q manual-winding, which is made up of 456 parts and offers up to 65 hours of power reserve, which can be seen operating through the sapphire crystal case back that also comes with an interchangeable solid titanium case back.
Finally, the watch is offered with a black alligator leather strap stitching in the same hue as the dial and with a titanium fold-over clasp.
The auction of this watch will take place at the “Geneva Watch Auction: XV” and will be in charge of the house Phillips Bacs & Russo as usual, and taking into account that it is a unique piece, it remains to be seen whether the auction will result in a new record price, which given the purpose for which it is intended, it will be most welcome.
