Hamilton Unveils Khaki Pilot Air Glaciers Special Edition

Hamilton together with Air Glaciers, a helicopter rescue team, launches the Khaki Pilot Air Glaciers special edition.

Air Glaciers is one of the world’s leading helicopter rescue companies based in Switzerland, operating most of the time in the Alps region but having a worldwide field of action, with a history of rescues in the most dangerous places on the planet.

The new watch was developed based on strict guidelines provided by experienced rescue teams so that the watch could not only provide the necessary instruments to facilitate their work but also be reliable and comfortable to use.

The new watch comes in a round titanium case measuring 42mm wide by 12.10mm high with a smooth bezel and a full brushed finish, sapphire glass, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s logo and flanked by rounded guards, screwed titanium case back with a sapphire opening that allows you to observe part of the mechanical movement and engraved with the “Air Glaciers” insignia and followed by “Special Edition”, and finally, 100m water resistance.

The cobalt blue dial comes with a matte finish and on it, we can find a Type-B pilot layout, with a central dial scaled at 12 hours and an outer ring scaled at 60 minutes and with the usual triangle marking 12 hours. Two semi-skeletonized sword hands filled with Super-LumiNova are responsible for providing the hours and minutes, a double day-date window next to the crown and a centre seconds hand with red and white stripes also filled with luminescent material.

At its heart, we find the H-30 automatic movement based on the ETA 2836-2, which comes with a Nivachron balance spring operating 21,600 Vph and offering up to 80 hours of power reserve.

The watch is supplied in an orange Pelican R40 Ruck case and includes two strap options, a brown suede nubuck strap and a blue nylon velcro strap with a leather lining, which can be purchased for a price of €1,495.
