Elka Teams Up Again With Ace Jewelers To Launch A New Limited Edition

Just yesterday we talked here about the latest H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner with a minimalism dial and today we return to the topic with another launch now led by Elka Watch Co. in partnership with Ace Jewelrs.

This, which is the second collaboration between the two brands, is part of the watchmaker’s D-Series Essence and comes with a sunburst blue dial inspired by the open sea with just three hands and devoid of any other elements or markings (or almost), proving that minimalist watches are on the rise and here to stay.

This exclusive edition comes mounted in a round polished and brushed stainless steel case with dimensions of 40.80mm in diameter, 10.80mm in thickness and 46.50mm lug-to-lug distance. Domed sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, screwed-in solid case back engraved with the name of the two collaborating brands and individual numbering, and finally, 30m water resistance.

The blue domed dial comes with a sunburst finish, faceted pencil hour and minute hands, a center seconds hand with a leaf-shaped counterweight and white arched brand lettering at 12 o’clock followed by “Automatic” of the movement and matching the reduced inscription “Swiss Made” at bottom.

Inside, it comes equipped with the La Joux-Perret G100 movement with 24 jewels, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 68 hours of power reserve.

The watch comes attached to a brown nubuck leather strap with a steel pin buckle with the brand’s logo.

It is a limited edition of 25 numbered pieces, which can be found exclusively at the Ace & Dik boutique in Amsterdam or in the Elka and Ace Jewelers online stores for a price of €1,625 plus tax.

Frederique Constant in collaboration with Ace Jewelers from Amsterdam presents a 100-piece limited edition of the Highlife Worldtimer.

In the industry for almost half a century, Ace Jewelers is today a reference in Amsterdam and it is in this sense that this collaboration takes place, whose three-colour scheme (red-white-black) pays homage to the city.
On the outside, the new variant once again wears the 41mm by 12.90mm Tonneau-shaped case, featuring polished and brushed finishes, a smooth bezel, sapphire glass on both sides, a fluted crown that, in addition to allowing you to set the time, also adjusts the date and the rotating ring of 24 cities, and lastly, 100m water resistance.

The matte black dial replaces the usual globe embossed dial, where we can find two rings on the periphery, one with 24 (cities) time zones, which comes with the city of Amsterdam painted in red and which replaces Geneva, and a second bicolour 24-hour ring, half painted in red representing the night hours and the other half in white with the day hours. In the centre applied baton hour markers and pencil hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, at 6 o’clock a sub-dial date pointer with a radial pattern and at noon three red crosses that represent the white crosses of Saint Andrew on the flag of Amsterdam city.

Inside runs the in-house Manufacture FC-718 automatic movement, reaching 28,800 Bph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve.
In addition to the integrated three-link bracelet, the set offers an extra black rubber strap with red stitching, which can be purchased exclusively at ACE Jewelers for the price of €3,550 (excl. taxes).
