TAG Heuer Reinvents The Monaco With New Chronograph And Evergraph
TAG Heuer expands its iconic Monaco collection with a series of technically upgraded chronographs and the introduction of the innovative Monaco Evergraph. The new lineup blends the model’s unmistakable square design with modern materials, refined ergonomics, and advanced in-house movements.
Monaco Chronograph: Titanium Meets Classic Design
The latest Monaco Chronograph models mark the first time the collection enters serial production in Grade 5 titanium, a material known for being both lightweight and highly resistant. The case maintains the characteristic 39 mm proportions inspired by the original 1969 reference, now refined with sharper lines and a more angular sapphire crystal that enhances the watch’s geometric presence. Despite its vintage inspiration, the construction still ապահովs a water resistance of 100 meters, making it suitable for daily wear.

Three distinct dial executions define this release. One features a green sunray finish that plays with light, while another combines a black opaline dial with solid 18K rose gold accents for a more luxurious appearance. The most traditional option comes in matte blue, contrasted by white sub-dials and subtle red details that reinforce the chronograph’s racing heritage. Across all versions, the dials incorporate printed luminous hour plots alongside applied, brushed and rhodium-plated markers, ensuring both legibility and depth.

Attention has also been given to ergonomics. The case profile has been redesigned with a more pronounced slope from the lugs to the wrist, improving comfort. The chronograph pushers have been newly shaped with a faceted design that integrates more naturally with the case architecture. Each model is delivered on a black perforated leather strap, paired with a Grade 5 titanium folding clasp that complements the lightweight nature of the case.

Powering these new Monaco Chronographs is the in-house TH20-11 automatic movement, which has been reconfigured specifically for the Monaco layout. The crown is positioned on the left side of the case, while the chronograph pushers remain on the right, preserving the model’s distinctive identity. The movement features a column wheel construction and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, delivering an approximate power reserve of 80 hours. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the caliber is decorated with Geneva stripes and highlights the mechanical architecture that underpins the chronograph function.
Monaco Evergraph: Advanced Chronograph Engineering
Alongside the core models, TAG Heuer introduces the Monaco Evergraph, a more technically focused interpretation that emphasizes both innovation and visual transparency. The watch is offered in two variants, one crafted in Grade 5 titanium with blue accents and another in black DLC-coated titanium, each housed in a 40 mm case. Both versions feature sapphire crystals on the front and back, along with water resistance rated to 100 meters. They are fitted with rubber straps embossed with a textile-like pattern and secured by titanium folding clasps.

The dial construction of the Evergraph is notably more complex and open. Much of the surface is made from clear acrylic, allowing a view into the movement from the front. The display retains essential chronograph elements such as the sub-seconds and 60-minute counters, while white and red printed markings enhance readability. Applied indexes filled with Super-LumiNova provide visibility in low-light conditions, and the visible bridges, finished with a combination of brushing and blasting, become an integral part of the dial’s aesthetic.

TH80-00 Movement and TH-Carbonspring Technology
At the heart of the Monaco Evergraph is the TH80-00 automatic chronograph movement, developed in partnership with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This caliber introduces the TH-Carbonspring system, a significant advancement in chronograph engineering that rethinks how the mechanism operates.

Unlike traditional chronographs, which rely on a series of levers and gears to control the start, stop, and reset functions, the TH-Carbonspring system replaces these components with a more advanced structure designed for precision and efficiency. The component is manufactured using LIGA technology, a highly specialized process involving lithography, electroforming, and molding, commonly used in industries requiring extreme micro-engineering accuracy.

The movement itself operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, placing it in the category of high-beat chronographs. It is also COSC-certified, ensuring chronometric precision, and offers a power reserve of around 80 hours. The finishing includes a distinctive checkered-flag motif across the bridges and plates, reinforcing the Monaco’s longstanding association with motorsport. Like the Chronograph models, the Evergraph is backed by a five-year international warranty.
Pricing and Availability
The new Monaco models join the brand’s regular production lineup. The titanium Monaco Chronograph is priced at approximately € 9,300, while the version combining steel and gold rises to around € 13,000. The Monaco Evergraph, reflecting its advanced technology and more complex construction, is priced at approximately € 25,000. All models are accompanied by a five-year warranty.
