Developed in collaboration with Louis Vuitton’s La Fabrique du Temps, the Monaco Speed 12 introduces an entirely new way of displaying the hours, transforming the iconic square Monaco into a mechanical spectacle unlike anything previously seen in the collection.

The Monaco Speed 12 retains the collection’s instantly recognizable square silhouette but reinterprets it through a highly technical lens. The watch is housed in a 40 mm Grade 5 titanium case, chosen for its combination of strength, lightness, and modern appearance.

Protecting the dial is a box-shaped sapphire crystal, while the sapphire exhibition caseback provides a view of the movement from the rear. The movement itself appears suspended within the case thanks to four black DLC-coated arches, creating a striking three-dimensional effect.

Every detail of the watch has been designed to evoke the world of motorsport. The architecture of the dial resembles the exposed mechanical components found beneath the hood of a racing car, with openworked bridges and vertically grooved structures recalling the appearance of modern engine covers.

Twelve Rotating Pistons Display the Hours

Instead of traditional hands or digital apertures, the watch uses twelve rotating pistons arranged around the dial. Each piston is crafted from rhodium-plated metal and finished with sandblasted and brushed surfaces. Arabic numerals engraved on the pistons indicate the hours.

As the central minute hand completes a full revolution, the corresponding piston rotates precisely 90 degrees to reveal the next hour. Simultaneously, the previous piston returns to its original position, creating a dynamic and constantly changing display.

The movement builds upon the patented Spin Time concept, adapting the rotating display mechanism to create the twelve-piston hour indication. Its engineering allows each piston to execute a precise quarter-turn as the minute hand completes its cycle, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition between hours.
