TAG Heuer Launches Monaco And Carrera With New TH-Carbonspring Technology
For centuries, the performance of a mechanical watch has depended on its hairspring – the regulating component that governs precision. After decades of innovation with steel, alloys, and silicon, TAG Heuer now introduces a new breakthrough developed entirely in-house: the TH-Carbonspring. This patented carbon-based hairspring offers resistance to magnetism, durability under extreme shocks, and enhanced stability thanks to its ultra-lightweight construction.

The TH-Carbonspring is created through a Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) process, where carbon nanotubes are grown and stabilized with amorphous carbon. This method not only ensures consistency in production but also integrates the collet directly into the spring during growth, eliminating one of the most delicate steps of assembly. Four patents now protect the process, marking a significant milestone for TAG Heuer in regulating technology.
To showcase this achievement, TAG Heuer is launching two limited edition timepieces: the Monaco Flyback Chronograph TH-Carbonspring and the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport TH-Carbonspring.
TAG Heuer Monaco Flyback Chronograph TH-Carbonspring
The Monaco, one of TAG Heuer’s most iconic designs since 1969, receives a modern evolution with a case, pushers, and crown crafted entirely from forged carbon. Measuring 39 mm across and 14.10 mm thick, the case remains faithful to the bold square profile of the original while benefitting from lighter and more durable materials.

The forged carbon dial is decorated with a spiral pattern inspired by the geometry of the hairspring. Three sub-dials are positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, with the small seconds at 6 o’clock kept almost invisible for a clean look. Carbon indices and hands coated in white Super-LumiNova ensure legibility, while a crisp white chronograph seconds hand adds contrast.

Powering the watch is the Calibre TH20-60, a COSC-certified automatic flyback chronograph offering an 80-hour power reserve and regulated by the new TH-Carbonspring. A black rubber strap with textile embossing and a DLC-coated titanium folding clasp complete the design.
This edition is limited to 50 pieces, priced at CHF 17,000, with availability starting in December 2025.
TAG Heuer, Monaco Flyback Chronograph TH-Carbonspring. Forged carbon spiral-engraved dial, forged carbon case, 39 mm diameter, 14.10 mm thickness, sapphire crystal, 100 meters water resistance. Black rubber strap with textile embossing and DLC titanium folding clasp. Calibre H20-60, automatic movement, hour, minutes, small seconds, flyback chronograph, 28,800 Vph, 80 hours of power reserve. Price: CHF 17,000, limited to 50 pieces.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport TH-Carbonspring
The Carrera line showcases the TH-Carbonspring at its most ambitious. The 44 mm case and tachymeter bezel are forged from carbon, emphasizing strength and lightness, while maintaining 100m of water resistance.

The dial features a spiral engraving that echoes the new oscillator’s design. Black opaline sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock provide chronograph readouts, while the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, framed by a black-gold ring, is left fully exposed. Rhodium-plated, Super-LumiNova-treated indexes and faceted hands ensure clarity against the intricate carbon background.
Inside, the Calibre TH20-61 integrates a column-wheel chronograph and flying tourbillon, both COSC-certified. The movement delivers a 65-hour power reserve and benefits from the enhanced stability of the TH-Carbonspring.

The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap and DLC-coated titanium clasp. Like the Monaco, production is strictly limited to 50 pieces, priced at CHF 40,000, available from early 2026 at select TAG Heuer boutiques.
TAG Heuer, Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport TH-Carbonspring. Forged carbon spiral-engraved dial, forged carbon case, 44 mm diameter, 15.40 mm thickness, sapphire crystal, 100 meters water resistance. Black rubber strap with DLC titanium folding clasp. Calibre H20-61, automatic movement, hour, minutes, 60-seconds tourbillon, flyback chronograph, 28,800 Vph, 65 hours of power reserve. Price: CHF 40,000, limited to 50 pieces.
A New Chapter in Precision Watchmaking
With the debut of the TH-Carbonspring, TAG Heuer advances mechanical watchmaking with a regulating organ that combines the key strengths of silicon while offering improved resilience and independence from external suppliers. The Monaco Flyback and Carrera Tourbillon Extreme Sport not only embody this technological achievement but also reinforce TAG Heuer’s role as a pioneer in both design and innovation.
