TAG Heuer Debuts The Skeleton Monaco

TAG Heuer, following the 80th anniversary of the Monaco Grand Prix, has just unveiled three new chronographs of its iconic Monaco model, an absolute first for the collection as they all feature a skeletonized dial.

Among the new Monacos are the “Original Blue” whose blue tones on the dial are inspired by the original 1969 model, the “Racing Red” which features elements on the dial in grey tones only interrupted by the Chrono red hands and finally the “Turquoise” which in addition to showing elements in shades of grey and turquoise on the dial, it wears a titanium case with a black DLC.

The three new chronographs share the same case in sandblasted Grade 2 titanium with a diameter of 39mm, a thickness of 14.7mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 47.4mm with a square shape, sapphire glass on the front and on the case back, a fluted crown at three hours flanked by two square pushers, and 100m of water resistance.

On the skeletonized dial, we can find two counters at 3-9 o’clock, a 30-minutes and 12 hours respectively, a small seconds at 6 o’clock and just below it a date window, a centre chronograph seconds hand in red matching the other two chronograph pointers, hands and hour markers grouped in a trapeze shape all filled with Super-LumiNova, which is also applied to the date wheel.

The new column wheel chronographs come equipped with the automatic movement Caliber Heuer 02, which reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 80 hours of power reserve.

The watches are attached to textured rubber and leather straps in blue for the “Original Blue” version and in black for the other two variants.

Prices range from €10,850 for the “Original Blue” and “Racing Red” versions to €11,400 for the “Turquoise” version.
