Studio Underd0g Unveils Third Generation 01Series With Exclusive Seagull Movement
Studio Underd0g has announced the third generation of its popular 01Series, a remarkable achievement considering the challenges microbrands face with sourcing Seagull’s movements.
Earlier this year, Seagull implemented a minimum order quantity of 10,000 units, which made it challenging for many independent brands to continue using their affordable yet reliable movements. Nevertheless, Studio Underd0g managed to overcome this obstacle by securing an exclusive contract with Seagull for a bespoke movement. This partnership led to the creation of the ST-1901B movement, distinguished by an all-black main plate and a silver swan-neck regulator that enhances regulation accuracy—a unique feature celebrating Studio Underd0g’s commitment to precision and quality.
The new 01Series collection includes four distinct models, each with its character: the Watermel0n in bold red hues, the Desert Sky in soothing shades of blue, the Ro0fy Panda in grayscale, and the Mint Ch0c Chip in refreshing turquoise. Each model retains the iconic Studio Underd0g design, featuring a Bi-Compax layout with two asymmetrical subdials positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock and a tachymeter chapter ring in a complementary tone. The dials also showcase a finely granulated texture, enhancing their depth and sophistication.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 01Series case retains its 38.50mm diameter while boasting a slimmer profile, now measuring just 12.90mm in thickness compared to the previous 13.70mm. The refined proportions add elegance, complemented by a slightly larger exhibition case back for an enhanced view of the movement. Additionally, the crown size has been increased to make winding easier, flanked by two block-shaped pushers that maintain Studio Underd0g’s distinctive style.
At the heart of each watch is the newly developed Seagull ST-1901B movement, specifically designed for Studio Underd0g. This movement features a column wheel, horizontal clutch, and a frequency of 21,600 VPH, delivering up to 50 hours of power reserve—ideal for those who value both performance and craftsmanship.
Preorders for this highly anticipated 01Series will begin on November 19, available for only nine hours from 3 pm to midnight, with a price of €600. This limited window offers enthusiasts a chance to secure one of these innovative timepieces, combining Studio Underd0g’s unique design with enhanced functionality and precision engineering.
