Studio Underd0g Unveils Salmon 03Series Chronograph
Studio Underd0g, in collaboration with H. Moser & Cie, recently unveiled the new 03Series during Geneva Watches Days, marking another milestone for the British watchmaker. Known for its vibrant and unconventional approach to design, Studio Underd0g has made a name for itself by producing fun and high-quality timepieces. In just four years, the brand has built a loyal fanbase, with almost every release selling out quickly. The new 03Series continues this trend, featuring a salmon-themed dial that adds a playful twist to its already iconic collection of monopusher chronographs.
Following the success of the 01Series, which featured the Chinese Seagull mechanical movement, and the 02Series, powered by the Swiss Sellita movement, the 03Series returns to the monopusher chronograph configuration but now with a Swiss mechanical movement. The watch is powered by the 23-jewel Sellita SW510M, a hand-wound mechanical movement based on the Valjoux 7750. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 Vph and offers an impressive power reserve of up to 63 hours, with an accuracy of -5/+5 seconds per day.
In terms of design, the watch maintains the recognizable aesthetic of the 01Series, with a round stainless steel case measuring 38.60mm in diameter, 13.60mm in thickness, and 44.50mm lug-to-lug. The case is both brushed and polished, featuring a smooth bezel and double-domed sapphire crystal. The dial is where Studio Underd0g’s creativity truly shines. Inspired by salmon, the grainy grey dial exhibits a gradient effect that mimics the texture and colour of salmon skin. The asymmetrical sub-dials, including a larger 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, are finished in salmon pink, harmonizing with the inner tachymeter bezel. The dial is completed with black hour markers and hands filled with luminescent material, along with yellow-tipped hands for the chronograph functions.
Additional details include a fluted crown at 3 o’clock, an open case back, and a water resistance rating of 50 meters. The watch is paired with a black calfskin leather strap featuring a grainy texture and a steel pin buckle, further enhancing its refined yet playful look.
Studio Underd0g has announced that the Salmon 03Series will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, September 17th, with a limited sales window of eight hours (from 3 pm to 12 am BST). Watches purchased within this window will be shipped in October, while those bought outside this timeframe will not be delivered until January 2025. The Salmon 03Series is priced at €1,800, offering collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to be the first to own the new generation timepiece from a rising star in the watch industry.
