Studio Underd0g Brings Pizza Party With The News ‘Pepper0ni’ And ‘Hawaiian’ Chronographs
We already know that Studio Underd0g is always surprising us with fun and colorful timepieces and after last year Richard Benc, founder of the brand and Andrew McUtchen from Time+Tide, left the idea of a pizza watch on April Fools’ Day, it arrives now in the form of two chronographs.
The new Studio Underd0g ‘Pepper0ni’ and ‘Hawaiian Chronographs, as usual, have their main highlight on the dial, presenting an identical base where only the ingredients change, as happens in real life with pizzas whose base is allways the same and then according tastes add different ingredients.
The textured dials are presented in a gradient yellow tone that intensifies towards the periphery ending in an orange. In the center, a Bicompax layout with an oversized 30-minute register at 3 o’clock in three beige tones and on the opposite side a second register with a running seconds with a radial pattern. Black pencil hour and minute hands that are filled with luminescent material and a center seconds hand, and finally, an inner tachymeter bezel in cream tones and a black scale.
While the ‘Pepper0ni’ dial is adorned with pieces of pepperoni, mushrooms, basil and olives, on the ‘Hawaiian’ we find pieces of pineapple and ham.
On the outside, the watches come in a stainless steel case with moderate dimensions, measuring 38.50mm in diameter, 13.60mm thick and 44.50mm lug-to-lug distance. Sapphire crystal on the front and back, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, two rectangular pushers and 50m of water resistance.
Inside, it comes equipped with the Chinese Seagull ST1901 manual movement, which operates 21,600 Vph and offers up to 50 hours of power reserve.
The watches come attached to a beige rough leather strap supplied by ‘The Strap Tailor’ and are priced at €600. Unlike usual, it is not enough to place an order in the online store, but rather get in direct contact with Richard Benc or Andrew McUtchen through events, the idea here is to bring the community together and interact, the other possibility is to go to the Time+Tide physical store in Australia and place the order.
