Starry Snoopy: The MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase
Here’s the long-awaited new MoonSwatch that comes with Snoopy on the dial called “Mission To The Moonphase”. The new watch comes in a completely white Bioceramic case with a matching Velcro strap and a dial also in the same tone that for the first time comes with phases of the moon.
The new MoonSwatch is a tribute to NASA’s mascot, Snoopy from the Peanuts, who for more than 50 years has distinguished individuals and organizations for their extraordinary actions related to the safety of human flights and the success of their missions, through the Silver Snoopy Award, from which Omega was distinguished in 1970 related to the Apollo 13 mission, about which you want to know more, we leave the link here.
The latest MoonSwatch is dressed entirely in white, including the bezel, crown, chronograph pushers and even the case back.
The white dial returns with three registers at 2-6-10 o’clock, with the last two maintaining the usual 60-minute counter and running seconds, while the first previously occupied by a 12-hour counter is now replaced by a moon phase indicator, and it’s where we can see Snoopy lying on the moon, which is engraved with the quote “I can’t sleep without a night light!” from the comic strip Peanuts, which illuminates blue under ultraviolet light along with the moon and the starry sky.
Everything else is similar to the other MoonSwatch’s, including the Bioceramic case with dimensions of 42mm wide, 13.75mm high and 47.30mm lug-to-lug distance, tachymeter bezel that, like the original Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, comes with the dot over the 90, glass of biological origin, fluted crown flanked by two pushers at 3 o’clock and 30m water resistance.
On the dial, in addition to what has already been said, we can also find three recessed sub-dials with prints in black, as with the minute track, the hands and the logos of the two brands at noon and the inscriptions “Speedmaster” and ” MoonSwatch” at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively. It should also be noted that the Chronograph centre seconds hand now comes with a lower tip.
Like previous editions, the new MoonSwatch also comes attached to a Velcro strap inspired by those used by astronauts over its suits here in white, maintaining the monochromatic scheme of the watch.
The watch arrives next March 26th and as usual, it should be available in selected Swatch boutiques for a price of €315 and should be limited to one unit per person per day.
