Sinn 613 ST & 613 ST UTC: A New Take On Dive Chronographs With Enhanced Features
Sinn has just unveiled the new 613 ST and 613 ST UTC chronograph diving watches, offering a more affordable alternative to the left-handed EZM 13.1 while introducing several key design changes. These new timepieces maintain Sinn’s reputation for robust engineering and precision, making them a compelling choice for dive watch enthusiasts.
One of the most noticeable differences is the repositioning of the crown and pushers back to the right side of the case, diverging from the left-handed layout of the EZM 13.1. Another significant update is the redesigned chronograph counter, now presented in white for enhanced legibility. Additionally, the previous date window at 4:30 has been relocated to 3 o’clock, where it sits alongside a new day window, further improving functionality.
Crafted from stainless steel, the 41mm case features a bead-blasted finish, providing a rugged yet refined aesthetic. The watch is equipped with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a unidirectional bezel with a black aluminum insert and diving scale, and a screw-down crown with protective guards flanked by two pushers. A screwed solid case back ensures durability, while an impressive 500m water resistance rating, meeting DIN 8310 and 8306 standards, solidifies its position as a professional-grade diving instrument.
The matte black dial of the 613 ST showcases an oversized white 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock with a red pointer, harmonizing with the red-tipped chronograph seconds hand. A recessed running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock maintains balance, while the double day-date window at 3 o’clock enhances practicality. A minute track along the edges like the handset are filled with luminescent material. The 613 ST UTC edition introduces an additional time zone function with a dark grey extra hand pointing to a 24-hour scale painted in the middle of the dial. This added functionality comes at the expense of the standard model’s day window, streamlining the design for global travelers.
Both models are powered by the reliable SZ02 automatic movement, featuring 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 Vph, and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. This movement ensures precision timekeeping and robust performance, making it a dependable choice for professional and recreational divers alike.
Sinn offers a range of strap options, including leather, rubber, and stainless steel bracelets, allowing for customization based on personal style and comfort. Pricing for the 613 ST varies between €2,450 and €2,675, while the 613 ST UTC is available from €2,950 to €3,175, making them highly competitive within the market for high-performance dive chronographs. With their superior build quality, enhanced functionality, and attractive pricing, the new Sinn 613 ST and 613 ST UTC solidify their place as standout options for enthusiasts seeking durability, precision, and versatility.
