Singer Reimagined 1970 DualTrack: A New Era Of Compact GMT Design
Singer Reimagined expands its collection with the new 1970 DualTrack, introducing a more compact interpretation of its distinctive GMT concept. Inspired by the sharper, more sculptural design language of the early 1970s, the new model combines a 40mm stainless steel case with an integrated bracelet and a re-engineered automatic movement offering an impressive six-day power reserve.
Founded in 2017 by Rob Dickinson, of Singer Vehicle Design, and watch designer Marco Borraccino, Singer Reimagined has built its identity around the intersection of horology and the automotive design of the 1960s and 1970s. While its earlier creations have largely focused on chronographs, the DualTrack introduced a different complication, rethinking the traditional GMT display around legibility and simplicity.
The new 1970 DualTrack takes that concept in a considerably more compact direction.
A Sharper 1970s Design Language
The name reflects the aesthetic inspiration behind the new collection. Where the 1960s were characterised by flowing, rounded forms, the early 1970s brought more angular architecture, furniture, automobiles and industrial design.

Singer translates that transition into a completely redesigned case. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and just 12.60 mm thick, the 1970 DualTrack retains the diameter of the brand’s 1969 family while becoming the slimmest watch in Singer Reimagined’s current lineup.
The case adopts a flat tonneau-shaped profile with pronounced facets and sloping surfaces. Its sporty brushed finish is contrasted by mirror-polished bevels, creating a more defined visual separation between the different planes.
At the top, a polished fluted bezel adds another layer of texture and reflects the light across the case.
The stainless steel construction is complemented by 100 metres of water resistance, while the screwed caseback incorporates sapphire crystal, allowing the movement to remain visible.
The Track Curb Bracelet
One of the defining elements of the 1970 DualTrack is its fully integrated stainless steel bracelet.
Rather than treating the bracelet as a separate component attached to the case, Singer designed it as a continuation of the watch’s overall form. Its profile is inspired by racetrack kerbs, appropriately named the “Track Curb” bracelet.

The bracelet measures 22 mm at the case and tapers to 18 mm at the clasp, combining brushed surfaces with polished elements on the central link and sides. A fine-adjustment system integrated into the clasp provides additional flexibility when fitting the watch to the wrist.
The result is a much more cohesive silhouette, with the bracelet effectively extending the geometric language of the case.
A Different Approach to GMT
The DualTrack’s most distinctive feature remains its interpretation of the GMT complication.
Instead of using a conventional fourth hand and 24-hour scale, Singer separates the two time zones through the dial architecture.

The central dial displays local time, while the peripheral rotating 24-hour flange indicates home time. The second time zone is read at 6 o’clock, creating a clear hierarchy between the two indications.
The system is also designed to be straightforward to adjust. A discreet corrector positioned at 9 o’clock advances the second time zone in one-hour increments.
This approach removes the additional GMT hand from the centre of the dial, leaving the main hour and minute display uncluttered while retaining the functionality expected from a dual-time watch.
Three Dial Colours
The 1970 DualTrack will be available in Khaki, Cobalt Blue and Dark Espresso Brown.
Khaki is one of Singer’s signature colours, while Cobalt Blue provides the strongest contrast of the three. Dark Espresso Brown offers a warmer and more understated alternative.

Regardless of the colour, the dials share the same fundamental architecture. The faceted hour markers feature a mirror-polished golden finish and are filled with cream-coloured Super-LumiNova.
The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are another characteristic Singer detail. They incorporate orange Super-LumiNova inserts, complemented by an orange seconds hand.
The combination of cream and orange luminous material deliberately references the colour palettes associated with 1970s design.
The internal rotating 24-hour flange receives a golden galvanic treatment on the Khaki and Cobalt Blue versions, reinforcing the contrast between the two time-zone indications.
Calibre 4 Slim Dual Time
Behind the display is perhaps the most technically significant aspect of the new watch: the Calibre 4 Slim Dual Time.
Based on Singer’s proprietary Calibre 4 architecture, the automatic movement retains the brand’s four-barrel system and provides an impressive six-day power reserve.

However, fitting that mechanism into a case only 12.6mm thick required a substantial redesign.
The movement has been reduced to 6.60 mm in thickness, with Singer’s master watchmakers re-engineering its profile specifically for the 1970 DualTrack.
Its twin sets of double barrels are arranged to sit flat within the movement and operate rapidly in series and parallel. According to Singer, this architecture is intended to provide an ultra-stable torque curve while keeping the movement’s vertical dimensions under control.
This engineering work is particularly important given that the DualTrack’s design is centred around reducing the physical presence of the watch without compromising its power reserve or GMT functionality.
