Seiko Revives Retro Charm with New 5 Sports Heritage SRPL03 And SRPL05
Seiko presents two new 5 Sports watches inspired by its heritage collection from the late 60s and early 70s.
The watches come in a stainless steel barrel-shaped case measuring 38.50mm wide, 12.40mm tall and 44.80mm lug-to-lug distance with a brushed finish, rotating bezel with metal insert, Hardlex crystal, recessed crown at 4 o’clock, screwed solid case back and 100m water resistance advertised on the dial.
The dial like the case follows a retro design, with a brushed silver (SRPL03) or matte black (SRPL05) background, applied baton hour markers and hands filled with LumiBrite, a lollipop red centre seconds hand, a framed day-date window at the 3 o’clock, a block minute track and vintage inscriptions highlighting the old Seiko 5 shield at noon and the inscription “Sports” in bright blue at 6 o’clock.
The watches are powered by the Caliber 4R36 automatic movement that comes equipped with hacking seconds, running 21,600 Vph and offering up to 41 hours of power reserve.
In addition to the blade steel bracelet with a folding clasp, the set also includes an additional rally-style leather strap.
This is a limited edition of 9,999 units per reference that is expected to arrive in July 2024 with a price of €460.
