Seiko Presents The New ‘Silfra’ Prospex Tortoise European Exclusive
The Seiko Prospex ‘Tortoise’ SRPK77 is the latest addition to the Land Series, presented in a steel case with a two-tone compass bezel, 200m water resistance and a beautiful textured dial in Earth tones.
The beautiful watch is a limited edition exclusive to Europe that pays homage to Silfra in Iceland. One of the most emblematic diving destinations in the world, located between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Its name ‘Tortoise’ originates from the so-called Turtle case of the historic diving watch but also the land watch intrinsic to its characteristics.
Thus, the watch comes dressed in a C-shaped brushed stainless steel case, with dimensions of 42.40mm in diameter, 11.70mm in thickness and 45mm lug-to-lug distance, bidirectional bezel with aluminum insert in dry green and grey and adorned with compass scale, sapphire crystal, recessed screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, screwed solid case back and 200m waterproof.
The beautiful textured dial in dark brown tones comes with horizontal striations, applied hour markers and hands all filled with cream tone Lumibrite, a date window at 4:30, a lollipop counterweight center seconds hand with an orange tip and even the embossed brand’s lettering at noon and Prospex logo followed by ‘Automatic’ and ’20BAR’ at 6 o’clock.
Powered by the 4R35 automatic movement that comes with hacking seconds, it operates at 21,600 Vph and offers up to 41 hours of power reserve.
The watch, in addition to the 3-link steel bracelet with folding clasp to which it is attached, is offered with an extra green textile strap.
As already mentioned, this is an exclusive edition for the European market of just 1,400 units that can be purchased at the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €780.
