Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Presents Its Latest Interaction, the Star Bar ‘Houjou’

After in September 2020 Seiko presented us two limited editions inserted in the Presage “The Cocktail Time” line inspired by the famous cocktails by Mr. Hisashi Kishi developed in its Star Bar in Kyoto, now it brings us a new limited edition inspired now in another of his cocktail, “Houjou”, which incorporates Japanese sake made from the nature-rich countryside of Japan.

The new Presage Star Bar “Houjou” retains one of the main features of the other two editions, a distinctive textured dial, but this time in golden color. However, there are many differences to register compared to the previous variants, starting with the stainless steel case that receives a gold coating and that grows in dimensions, passing to 40.5mm in diameter (more 2.0mm), while maintaining the 11.8mm thickness. We can also find some differences in the shape of the case, which now appears to have more angular lugs and a larger crown in a more contemporary format, receiving the same front hardlex glass and also in the open-through case back, which comes engraved with individual numbering by force from being limited in production to 5,500 units.

On the textured dial, there are also some differences, featuring hour faceted triangles, dropping the previous Arabic numerals at 2-4-6-8-10-12 hours, everything else remains the same, dauphine faceted hands, central seconds hand with diamond-shaped open counterweight and frame date window at 3 o’clock, all in golden tones to match with the case.

Inside, it gets exactly the same automatic movement as the other two editions, Caliber 4R35, which offers up to 41 hours of power reserve, and allows the manual winding and hacking seconds.

Last, the watch is offered with a brown calfskin leather strap with a three-fold clasp and push-button release.
