Seiko Launches SRPL19 In Style 60s Collection: Limited Edition For Europe
The Seiko Presage collection has introduced a new standout model in its popular Style 60s series, the SRPL19. Exclusively available in Europe, this limited-edition timepiece blends modern precision with a nod to Seiko’s rich heritage, specifically inspired by the iconic 1964 Crown Chronograph ref. 5719A, originally released during the Tokyo Olympics.
The SRPL19 showcases a brushed stainless steel case that measures 40.80mm in diameter, 12mm in thickness, and 47mm in length, delivering a balanced and comfortable fit on the wrist. Its sleek design features drilled lugs and a fixed bezel adorned with a deep blue insert, complemented by a 60-minute scale. The Hardlex crystal protects the dial, while the fluted crown sits at the traditional 3 o’clock position. The watch also comes equipped with a screwed open case back, revealing part of the movement, and offers a water resistance of up to 50 meters.
The dial is one of the most striking features of the Seiko Presage SRPL19, designed in a soft light blue hue that evokes the aesthetic sensibilities of 1960s Europe. The dial’s layout is crafted with varying finishes that create a sense of depth, beginning with a concentric brushed centre. Dauphine-style hands and hour markers, which are accented with LumiBrite for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, add an elegant touch. Surrounding the centre is a vertical brushed ring featuring retro-inspired indexes shaped like wavy blocks, and a minute/second chapter ring that mirrors the centre’s finish.
At the heart of the SRPL19 is the reliable 4R35 automatic movement, a 23-jewel Calibre with a beat rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The movement delivers up to 41 hours of power reserve, ensuring consistent performance. Adding to the watch’s allure, the movement is embellished with a gold-tone rotor, visible through the open case back.
In terms of versatility, the watch comes with a three-link stainless steel bracelet featuring a folding clasp. For those who prefer a more casual style, a beige canvas strap with a steel pin buckle is also included in the set.
