Seiko Introduces Two New 5 Sports SKX Series with Camouflage Dials
Seiko in collaboration with Japanese skater Yuto Horigome has just presented a special limited edition of their 5 Sports SKX series model.
The Japanese skater who was born in 1999 in Tokyo, from an early age began to practice the sport and participate in competitions, having moved to the United States in 2017 and became one of the best skateboarders in the world. In 2019 he was in second place in the World Championships, which would prove to be a prelude to the first place achieved in 2021.
This special edition SRPJ39 of 6,000 units, whose colours and materials were chosen by Yuto Horigome, has the particularity of presenting, for the first time in the SKX series, a dial with a camouflage pattern in different shades of black and grey, besides the traditional layout of the outer-ring with minutes scale, hour markers and three central hands all filled with Lumibrite and the double day-date window at 3 o’clock.
Outside, stainless steel case with a black PVD coating, unidirectional black bezel, hardlex crystal, crown at 4 o’clock, see-through case back with a Yuto Horigome signature in the centre and around with the inscriptions of “Limited Edition” on the top and of the serial number on the bottom, and finally, 100 meters of water resistance.
Inside there’s nothing new, equipped with the Caliber 4R36 automatic movement that offers up to 41 hours of power reserve. It should also be noted that the watch is offered with a black silicone strap with a three-fold clasp.
Alongside the limited edition, the SRPJ37 is also launched, but this is in the form of a regular model, which also features a dial with a camouflage pattern, but this one in different shades of green, sharing all the other aforementioned features of the special edition, with the exception of the absence of mentions on the case back and the silicone strap which in this model is replaced by a NATO nylon strap.
