Seiko Expands the King Seiko Collection
Seiko adds two new models to its King Seiko collection, one of which is a recreation of the 1965 King Seiko KSK.
Re-creation of King Seiko KSK LE
It is a limited edition of 1,700 units that is faithful to the design of the original with the exception of now adding a date window.
Outside, 38mm diameter stainless steel case with sharply faceted lugs and smooth bezel, with the traditional Zaratsu polished finish.
Boxed-shaped sapphire crystal, crown signed with the brand name and above the “W” mark, which means the KSK’s water-resistance and on the case back the hallmark gold medallion in the centre.
The champagne silver dial comes with gold faceted indexes and sharply edged hands, which match the date window frame and the applied brand inscription at 12 o’clock, and finally, two lines of black inscriptions of “King Seiko” and “Diashock 26 Jewels” at 6 o’clock.
Inside, the high-frequency Caliber 6L35 operates, offering up to 45 hours of power reserve.
The watch comes with a brown leather strap with the heritage KSK’s signature on the buckle. The watch will be available from July 2022 in a selection of the brand’s boutiques and some authorized retailers worldwide.

Special Edition “Wisteria of Kameido”
The second addition to the collection invokes the beauty of the wisteria, a lilac flower that blooms in spring in Kameido, a region in Tokyo where the Seiko facility was located where the King Seiko was created.
So the new watch comes with a sunray purple dial, with a gradation from the centre to the edge, silver faceted indexes and sharply hands and the traditional inscriptions at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock.
The 37mm diameter stainless steel case is distinguished by the sharp and angular design of the 1965 King Seiko KSK, which is joined by the boxed-shaped sapphire crystal.
Inside, it is powered by the Caliber 6R31 which produces 21,600 Vph and offers up to 70 hours of power reserve.
The watch is offered with a steel bracelet that pays homage to the design of 1965 original, with many beveled surfaces that reflect light in different ways.
The watch will be available from July 2022 exclusively in the brand’s official boutiques worldwide.
