Seiko And HUF Unite For The Limited Edition SRPL33: A Tribute To 60s Style
Seiko has once again joined forces with lifestyle brand HUF to introduce the limited edition Seiko 5 Sports SRPL33, a timepiece that pays homage to the classic design of the late 1960s Seiko 5 Sports models. This collaboration blends vintage aesthetics with contemporary touches, creating a unique watch that stands out in the world of affordable automatic watches.
The SRPL33 features a stainless steel case inspired by Seiko’s iconic SKX model, with dimensions of 42.50mm wide, 13.40mm thick, and 46mm lug-to-lug. Its brushed finish and unidirectional bezel, adorned with red and white graphics and a pip-lume at the 12 o’clock position, add to its rugged appeal. The crown, positioned at 4 o’clock and adorned with the HUF logo, is flanked by protective guards, while the case back showcases HUF’s signature green tone along with the “Limited Edition” and “0001/7000” engravings.
The watch’s dial is a striking silver sunburst design, complemented by a bi-colour outer ring in blue and green. Black rectangles with Arabic numerals, applied indexes, and hands filled with beige LumiBrite enhance readability. The day-date window at 3 o’clock adds functionality, while the green centre seconds hand echoes the HUF logo positioned at 6 o’clock. At noon, the contemporary Seiko 5 Sports logo completes the design, alongside a subtle “Automatic” inscription in blue.
Powering the SRPL33 is Seiko’s reliable Caliber 4R36 automatic movement. With 24 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 Vph, and a power reserve of up to 41 hours, this movement is visible through the transparent case back. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, making it versatile for daily wear.
Paired with a robust 3-link stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp, the Seiko 5 Sports SRPL33 offers a lug width of 22mm, ensuring comfort and durability.
